Comment: Just found a bag with some swaps in that I received just before I moved tucked away in a box I have finally unpacked. The ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC Corpse Bride ornament you made me was amongst them. It's one of my favourite ever swaps. She's now on display and will be displayed all year round, but I will use her as my tree fairy when the tree is up this year 'cos she's so gorgeous and beautifully made. Her face is just perfect : ) Thank-you so much for making her for me Judy : ) I'm really sorry for not rating you sooner.
Response: Wow, wonderful! I'm so glad you liked her - had a lot of fun making her and regretted that I didn't photograph her before sending off. Appreciate the rating! Hugs, J

Comment: Wow! SO many wonderful gifts! Where do I begin! The cutest little teddies! The marvelous little hand mirror kit! Lovely letter sets! Millions of wonderful surprises, more than I can even count! I will have to take it all out and go through it tomorrow when I'm rested, but I wanted to let you know it got here in great condition, and that I'm so grateful! The best thing, of course, is the Unicorn Art, by Kat! Masterful, Kat!
Response: She is STILL lovin' on her ami - it came to Canada with us for the summer - so I'm glad you feel equally loved and spoiled! And any time you feel like making a daddy and baby unicorn ami to complete the family ...that would make a wonderful Christmas surprise... :)

Comment: Thank you! I love the fairy! :)
Response: She was a lot of fun to make. I deliberately kept the necktie light and the wire bail large, so that if you found her too large for a pendant she could become a faery tree or Christmas tree ornament. Thank you for rating ...and for the heart!

Comment: LOVE IT!!!!!! Thanks so much.... I don't know if I coud part with any of it..... thanks bunches!
Response: Well, I hope it'll be inspiring and that you can at least bring yourself to use some of the pieces! I know that feeling when you want to hoard your pretties, but challenge yourself to incorporate the bits, first in things you will keep and then in art to trade. :) Enjoy!

Comment: Wow! I felt like I was walking down a Paris street, stopping at shops, buying items...the box is wonderful!! Thanx!

Comment: I just received the most wonderful woodland kawaii package! I love the Fairy letter papers, they're so pretty!! Thank you for taking the time and care to put together such a nice package for me.I would love to swap you again if you ever find yourself in need of more dishcloths :)
Response: I LURVES my dishcloths and really have to make an effort to actually USE them and get them dirty! I know, that's what they are for, and they work wonderfully, but it's so hard to do it the first time! Perfect colours, lovely textures. (Did I tell you I'm saving the scrubbies for coasters?) Thank YOU!

Comment: There are a few people on Swap-bot when I see their name or know that they are my partner in a Swap, I smile because not only are you a warm, wonderful person to interact with, you are also an incredibly talented individual with an excellent eye for colour, form and the ability to put it together. Even the packaging is amazing, the box is incredible. I love the pin, the raised veining on the leaf is superb. If you hadn't told me it was paper clay I would not have known. I love the copper wire detail, perfect, not too much or too little and you did three green accent jewels. How did you know? I have this thing about odd numbers when it comes to embellishment. To me 3 or 5 of something looks better than 2 or 4. The fact that it can be worn as a pendant is just bonus points and I love the versatility. The only thing I have to say is....where are the earrings to match????
Response: Oooh, you just made my day with that great and detailed comment! That paperclay is frustrating to work with (soft, doesn't hold detail well compared to sculpy) but it IS light and strong. I had fun making it for you - and the odd numbers are a design principle of mine as well - comes from Asian floral design originally! As for the earrings - if you would seriously wear a pair of mini leaves each with their own wire wrap and single green jewel, I would totally make them. Pierced?

Comment: Another generous wonderful thoughtful fun and BRIGHT package from the Masterbard! Swapping with you is a real treat! LOVE the notepad! It is just what I've been looking for! Everything was super cute and I know I'm going to end up hoarding those big stickers not wanting to "waste" them on something unworthy! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Response: Happy happy happiness! It was so much fun to pick out those things for you. It's easy to get a lot of this kawaii stuff, but so difficult to get things like Tim Holz or vintage style over here - which is why I like doing private swaps that focus on local strengths and/or handmade goodies. Can't wait to see my box come in!

Comment: It's unusual and unexpected - thanks. I don't eat tons of Korean food but I am teaching myself to try more new stuff. I love Chinese, Japanese, Thai and Vietnamese food so I should try Korean. Thanks so much, Judy. Happy Holidays.
Response: Can't believe how fast you got those, considering the Christmas rush must have already started! Re Korean food: To start with, stay away from anything 'red': it will inevitably be soaked in gochujang, our Korean red pepper paste, which is pretty spicy! A great intro is 'twegi kalbi' (pork ribs) or 'bibimbap' (a rice and veggie dish, healthy and tasty) If you like beef, try 'pulgogi' - thin slices of meat roasted at the table and wrapped up with rice in lettuce leaves!

Comment: Hello Judy, I received your "Primeer of Samtharia" today in the mail. I really liked that it was a book not only of strange creatures, but of strange plants and people. I like that these creations came from a land that is part of a fantasy world you and others have created. So, this bestiary is from your imagination. I really enjoyed reading it and that parts of it rhyme as you read it through. Thank you too for the pen and ruler to use on future papercrafting projects. I will enjoy adding your book to my collected work. Barb sleepingrover2010
Response: I'm so glad you appreciated it as it was meant! Yes, those beasts (and plants and people) are all from our own imaginations, in a very thoroughly populated fantasy land. If you say the letters as the first part of the 'rhyme', all of the pages will scan and rhyme properly, by the way! Hugs from Santharia, Judith

Comment: I absolutely LOVED how you put this together. It was beautiful. Everything about it was perfect. What was extra special was the little sewing kit-- I've spent an unhealthy amount of time with a needle in my hand for the last month (in fact, as I type, I've been sewing the last 12 hours trying to finish something for this weekend.) Opening the package really made me smile.
Response: I can't believe it got there so fast! So happy that you liked the sewing kit - I LOVED trying to imagine myself into the world and head of this formerly spoiled princess as she tries to pull together some sort of new life, just to get enough to eat.... and I could envision her carefully pulling threads from the hem of the single court dress she wears, now ragged and stained, to wrap around bits of twig to create her own small kit... Hugs, Judith

Response: I enjoy spoiling the people I swap with, so I'm glad you think it was generous :) The calligraphy pages are from a reproduction 'manual' which I got from my friend's antique store (she runs a Chinese/Korean furniture warehouse) and parcel out bit by bit for my crafts and swaps. Response: That was one of my more daring stamps, and I didn't use an eraser for it, either - I wouldn't trust the material not to crumble in those little details, like the eyes and lips! You really had some creative genius moments working on these! :) I love them all and I was even inspired to go ahead and decorate for Halloween early this year - what fun! I put up a couple of photos on my Flickr page so you could see what the tree looks like decorated. (The wall behind is still blank - I'm still working on the wall quilt that goes there. Hope to have that finished next week.) My Halloween tree looks fabulous! Thanks for swapping!!

The stationary I can definitely use and what is that lovely paper lace trim? I would like to find more of that too! So many awesome things! Thank you so very much! It is truly a pleasure swapping with you! :-)
Response: That 'paper lace' is peel and stick, if you can believe that! If you are careful, you can use both the sticker side AND the shiny plasticized 'waste', which is just as lacy and pretty - just use a good glue. I think I picked it up in Japan, but the Daiso 100Y/1000W stores here (I mean in Korea) might also have some. I'm so glad you loved your baggie and will trade with you anytime - hugs from the bard!

Comment: You could just knock me over with a feather. What a wonderful package! I am just crazy about my steampunk emergency kit, it is positively one of the neatest things I have ever seen! It was so much fun looking at all of the tiny trinkets in the little compartments. And all of the lavender, thank you so much. I know that is one smallish line in my profile, so you wouldn't necessarily know how much I truly like lavender (the plant and the color). But, I love the smell, and have big bushes of it on my patio. Please tell Katherine how much we appreciate her ATCs, Victoria intends on making some in return. Thank you so much for such a thoughtful swap package. P.S. That dinosaur egg is the coolest thing ever! He's got a front row spot in my curio cabinet
Response: Happy happiness! I just had a feeling about the lavender.... and I thought you would be the perfect person for that steampunk kit... in fact, one of the few people to whom I could part with it... :D Kath is thrilled to get her own feedback and hopes Victoria will like using her own stash goodies as well. And I'll be happy to share my secret for making those dino eggs - some basic chemistry is involved which your daughter is sure to love as well! (evil grin)

Gracious me, thank you both so very much for the exquisite packet of goodies. My favorite bit is the thank you tag from Katherine. Thanks for the many varied origami papers, the vast assortment of Korean ephemera papers, the sticky notes, the stickers... I sigh with contentment as if I've eaten a great big meal and drunk a glass of excellent wine. Thank you. Kansahamnida.

Comment: i love it thank you its perfect. well made (better than what i sent you i am so sorry can i re send) thank you for the other faerie things how do you make the wings? <3<3
Response: Yay, it got there in good time! The wings are my own little trick, but I don't mind sharing... fill a ziplock bag with ice water (MUST be very cold or you just melt the bag in the next step) and use a low-melt glue gun to create your shapes. You can do free-hand or put a template on the counter UNDER the bag to follow (especially good for patterns that have to be symmetrical, like wings!). The glue chills and peels off almost instantly. You can then spraypaint, etc. as you like!

Comment: Thank you so much for the wonderful New Year's package you put together for me. I love it and I think its having the exact right effect - I'm actually looking forward to getting things in order and starting the New Year with a clean home!
Response: Ooooh, it got there in time! :) I hope nothing was deformed by its squashy journey: they made me repack it all at the post office into one of THEIR boxes and I was terrified I'd have to move to the next size up and have stuff rattling around (not to mention raising your hope for a giant box containing an inflatable robot maid, or some such thing)... anyhow, I'm so happy you liked it. Here's a wish for your spaces both physical and spiritual to be refreshed in the New Year!

Comment: Hello Judy, Sorry I am slow in getting your rating done, but I appreciate your patience with me. I just love your poem comparing your cooking to your singing. You did a great job of using both words related to cooking and singing that gave me a great feel about both. Your addition of your own art creation on the front of the postcard added that "over the top" element to complete your poem. I will proudly add your poem to my Poetry Journal. I think this is our first time to be partnered up on Swap-bot. I hope we have further opportunities to swap with one another. Until we meet again, Happy Swapping! Barb sleepingrover2010
Response: Thank you so much for your comment, your rating, AND the heart! I never mind if people take the time to think about what they would like to say and express themselves so sweetly - the appreciation nurtures both me and my artistic energy... :) I hope we'll meet again, perhaps in a mutual group? Hugs, Judith

Response: Sorry I didn't get it out sooner...but it DID get there! I've loved the Prester John legend for a long time and it was energizing to look over it again and collate some of the 'source material' for the myth. I hope to improve my zining skills each time I create a new one. Here's to # 3!

Response: Oh, thank you! Those sorts of positive comments are even better than hearts - I'm glad you liked it, because I had so much fun designing the mini envelope right into the card and then tucking a note in as well! How to get the most out of your ATC space, eh? I'll be happy to do private swaps after the holidays - let me know.

This so makes up for my first flake (I've given up on the Paper Scraps - {rolls eyes} which I had to rate for the other morning and which depressed me the rest of the day. Now, on the other hand, I'll be glowing and happy with positive energy. I hope you'll post some projects when you're done! Hugs from over the water - Judith

Comment: Thanks for the very beautiful tag you made for me! I love it and I love your idea about it can stand alone and decorate my home :-) I hope we can swap again another time. I also liked that you took some of your newspaper on your own language and wrapped the tag in it. I will definately use that in my scrapbooking or my cards. A heart for you :-)
Response: I thought you'd appreciate the newspaper - I don't read Korean, but I speak enough to get by day-to-day. Most Koreans are proud of their English and want to practise with 'a foreigner', so it's not often a problem. I'm so glad you loved the tag - I really enjoyed embellishing her, and it's great how quickly it got to you. Let me know about private swap ideas in the New Year! Hugs, Judy

Comment: An intriguing subject! I have a copy of the Mandeville ms that I bought years ago in England. :0)
Response: Oooh, lucky! Yes, I'm intrigued enough to think about a faux postage project using some of the Prester John images - a sort of alternate reality in which the kingdom survives up into Victorian times.... it may or may not work, but I'm going to have a try at it.. :) Glad you liked the zine, and thank you so much for the heart as well!

Comment: Neat ATC. The envelope is neat, too. Did you make that? It fits the ATC so perfectly. Thanks!
Response: It arrived! Thanks for rating and letting me know - I still get anxious when stuff has to be mailed so far around the world. I probably made the envie, as I generally use actual playing cards for my ATCs and customize them to the recipient, though (blush) I don't recall which exact one I sent in this swap. At any rate, I'm happy you liked it!

Response: (chuckles) I thought that might catch my fellow Craft-ers fancy - it was a great deal of fun to research and write, and could've been a paper if I'd put less graphics and more detail in .... Anyhow, I'm honoured that you liked it - my first zine ever!

Comment: Excellent cards; very well-done--Thank you! I forgot to give you the heart when I rated you first (my life is not entirely my own these Holi-daze); but I have been wanting to use dress patterns on collages, and now I have some! Thanks loads, Melissa. p.s. I will reply to your intriguing swap suggestion in the very near future--right now--gotta pick up the kids!
Response: Great, glad they got there and that you appreciated them. I had a lot of fun designing two cards to make a 'spread' that would look good together but still have their own distinctive 'gender' - and of course, it was fun to use actual fashion-related supplies!

Comment: I love her so much :-D The postman looked puzzled when he rang my doorbell and said: "You have a package from Corea" I laughed so hard. I don't know why he thought it was so weird recieving something from Corea as I recieve stuff from all over the world all the time. Oh well.. As I was saying she is the cutest little piece of bacon I've ever seen. And the little tiny one is cute to - as you said now I only need one more to have a collection. I appreciate all the time and efford which I can see you put into her. Thank you thank thank you! - Btw. your yarn just went out today :-D
Response: LOL! So happy you love her - she turned out so cute, didn't she? And I'm happy about the yarn coming in! (I find these sorts of swaps so much more 'rewarding' than the big 'buy me something off Etsy' types where it's basically just shopping for a stranger. This way I get to know someone far more individually.) My postal outlet on campus here doesn't even blink now when they see me walking in with all kinds of strange things to go out to Denmark or Brazil or Canada by now.... even unwrapped piggies! Hugs from Korea!

Comment: Thanks for a great swap. Olivia really enjoyed receiving her bag of goodies :-)
Response: How exciting! Katherine got her envelope today and was completely blown away by it (and a good thing too, because otherwise she would've been insanely jealous of all my mail that came in!) She sat on the floor positively gloating over her goodies and kept making little remarks to herself about them (see your rating!) I promised myself I would only do art swaps, not buying swaps, but this was so worth it to see the happiness on her face and to let her get 'stash' like Mom. Thank you again for making both of us so joyful tonight!

Response: Awesome! I always make sure to ask them to put 'REAL' stamps on so that people get that extra little exotic touch from Korea, not just a postal rubber stamp... I'm glad you liked the package - I get a kick out of choosing things that North American swappers don't have easy or inexpensive access to...isn't that part of the fun? :)
