Description:

Scrapbooking monthly kit clubs are so much fun!

you always get different types of materials and supplies that coordinate and compliment each other.

in this swap you will create a monthly paper crafts kit for your partner.

you will have 2 weeks to pick a theme or a color combo and then hand pick the items that would fit your partner's kit (please note: store bought kits are not the target here. you need to compile your very own kit).

the kit should include the following:

10 buttons/brads/eyelets

5 papers, at least 6X6 inches size

4 big embellishments (Prima flowers, chipboards, tags etc)

3 stamped images/die cuts

2 stickers/ 3D embelishments

1 ribbon/border

you may add more coordinating extras your choice!

please write below in the comments if your are more of a page kit, or a card kit type. this does not mean you will get it but your partner may use that info.

this is the time to get creative! remember you are "starting" your very own kit of the month club.

this is an international swap, and everybody can sign up for this with a rating over 4.8/well filled profile. I will check the profiles and do my best that this swap will be a good one for everybody!

you can see the previous kits from on the Flickr group:

happy swapping!

Hi just a quick question - this is senders choice isn't it? Apart from maybe catering to your partners wish for card or scrapbook type stuff? I have always wanted to join a kit club but they seem so expensive - this is a perfect idea and I hope you will do it every month! Kris

Oh and I mean senders choice but a co-ordinating kit right? Lol!

Masterbard 11/ 6/2009 #

Oooh, this sounds like fun! I love making up 'sets' of things, and it would be a treat to create a coordinated package to a theme.

My only concern is - what if my 'distressed vintage' style just doesn't suit my 'cutesy country' partner - or vice versa? Will you assign partners right away after the deadline so that we can check profiles and take colour preferences into account? I'd hate for someone to receive something they'd never appreciate or use when another swapper would have just loved that same set of objects, if you see what I mean.

Or should we post a brief summary/comment here to make it easy for everyone? For example:

"Masterbard likes to design in 8X8, A4, and ATC size. Her favorite colours are brown/gold/cream/parchment/sage/rust. Favorite styles vintage/retro/medieval. Loves flowers/birds/gems/words/hardware/inspirational. No pastels/country/cartoons, please."

this swap is sender's choice. part of the challenge is to receive different types of styles, including colors that you never thought you can design with. at the end those colors and themes turn to be amazing creations. It is always good to have a look at your partner's profile and see what they like and if you like make them a kit to their style BUT this is not mandatory and not part of the swap. just like in any other kit club, you don't get to choose what will be in the kit.

I understand - thanks for the clarification. Personally I invariably check my partner's profile, whether it's required or not, as I'm more concerned about sending out a package or artwork that won't be loved and appreciated than whether or not I get something that 'suits' me. As is pretty clear from my profile, I can use and reuse just about anything I receive one way or another!

Meital yes I am like you and happy to receive anything and it's a good challenge when you get something you wouldn't normally pick yourself! I'm always up for a challenge! I do both pages and cards so I am easy to please :o)

I have one question. Do you mean 10 buttons, 10 eyelets, and 10 brads each or do you mean a total of all equals 10?

Meitalt 11/10/2009 #

@macka it's at least 10 in total.

I'd prefer a cardmaking paper kit--not a scrapbooker. Also, not into sports or cutesy-kidsy stuff. Thanks!

I am a scrapper and getting ready to start my Christmas album for the month very soon if that helps. My kids are grown so I don't have use for kiddy kits. Anything scrappy related is really fine for me.

proudmama 11/15/2009 #

I would like either a cardmaking kit or a scrapbook kit. Only thing is I dont scrap 6x6 size, so if it is the scrapbook kit, I would prefer the papers 8x8, 8.5x11 or 12x12. Hope that helps!

shelleydeanne 11/15/2009 #

I am a scrapbooker, not so much a card maker. I primarily scrapbook in 12 x 12 size, or mini books of all shapes & sizes. If you are my patner, please feel free to send any style, color scheme, etc. I think the fun thing about this swap is getting things I wouldn't necessarily pick out myself and being creatively challenged to use what I get, so don't feel like you need to go by my profile. I'll be happy with whatever I get!
