Comment: Sorry that computer issues and holidays delayed my response! I completely agreed with your letter about Thoreau -- it was only after I discovered that he was a very entertaining travel writer that I felt like I could read a piece all the way through :) Check out his trip to Quebec -- I have been there, and his portrayal of Scots guards at the Citadel was classic ... I nearly split my sides laughing at his speculations on their chances in a kilt versus long underwear! I would love to do 1:1 book reviews/ challenges with you once you are settled again -- family life. Nuts. But I have so enjoyed these swaps :)

Response: They were ProMarkers which I am still very unsure with. I see so many beautiful uses of ProMarkers but I need a lot more practice with them. I am really glad you liked the pages - I have to admit when I see some of the work I feel very unworthy! There are so many talented people here!

Comment: Thank you for your book review! The book I read, The Boomerang Clue, was also not a Poirot or Marple mystery (although it was a murder mystery) and I enjoyed it quite a bit. The book you read sounds really interesting. I recently read a few books set in modern-day Afghanistan and it would be interesting to read this one to compare the middle East in the 1950s with the middle East today. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and if you're still looking for authors to add to the series, I'd love to see Charles Dickens in there somewhere!

This group created an album based on Margaret Atwood's book "Handmaid's Tail" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTaZSpuVwfs If you can't reach link the group is called Lake of Canada and it's there most recent album (I think). I also wanted to tell you what a great job you did on your reviews. You reminded me that I need to write my reviews right away instead of waiting until the end.

Afterwards I saw on your profile that you are one.XD lol You are talented. Your letter was more enjoyable then the book that I've read.XD Reading the contents of your letter I realised I was looking in a mirror. I also didn't like my book. It also was a book recommended by someone else. Maybe we shouldn't trust people for book reviews anymore. :-p My book was Unseen by Karin Slaughter. Allthough I don't think it was the author's writing that bothered me, but also the person and story itself. Thank you for typing the letter, it's really easy to read that way. I'm so glad I was partnered up with you. It's a great swap you hosted too, It really was about time that I was going to read my books from my bookcase, they've been sitting there for years. I've become an addict for my e-reader now. So it was really enjoyable to hold an actual book again(allthough the story wasn't so great). Thank you for this great swap. Have you published a book already? I would love to read one. ^_^

No, I haven't published anything yet, partly because I so often doubt myself, but also because it is only in the past couple of years since I started my MA that I have seriously got down to writing. Comment: Thank you for your interesting and thoughtful comments on 'Ex Libris'. I also read this one for the March Book Club and share your mixed responses to the essays! I did, however, love the proofreading family -- for some of us, it is impossible not to see typographical errors! I've looked at Amazon and she does have a second book of book-related essays called 'At Large and At Small: Confessions of a Literary Hedonist' which I might try at some time in the future.

I usually read him when I need something quick. I really only like his Michael Bennett and Private series, and the stuff he writes with Chris Grabenstein & Marshall Karp, two authors I enjoy.

I have a problem with using books for crafts, too, but I found a book that had the first 260 pages missing with a completely intact cover and decided that it was giving itself up for the good of the crafting world. Comment: Nancy, thank you for your interesting list. I've read a couple of books by Hilary Mantel - she is a very good author and I enjoy her work. I also love the work of Jean Rhys - she is one of my favourite authors so I'm glad you enjoyed her book.
