Hi! My name is Laima, and I live in Madison, WI. I`ve been doing various forms of art for the past 28+ years. I love metal, collage, painting, illustrating and creating beautiful, functional things. Lately I've been on a linoleum and screenprinting kick.
Want to see what I'm up to lately? I update my blog with art projects in various states of in progress and completed, though lately my updates have been pretty sparse.
I've been a fan of snail mail ever since getting my very first pen pal back in 1st grade (she was from Nebraska!) even though that exchange only lasted about 2 years.

I am utterly perplexed by people who insist that the ONLY aceptable way to do a zentangle is to ONLY use official patterns.... i really and truly thought that book #1's goal was to show you some ideas, get your creativity flowing, and see people go all creative making their own things! sigh.
Everything! And anything I don't do, I'm willing to try! I tend to reverse engineer cool things i see to figure out if i CAN make it at home, figure out whether i already have the supplies to do so, and whether or not it would be worth trying to make one myself. This means my house is full, full, FULL of all sorts of art supplies and UFOs (unfinished objects).
I have found that I'm not so good at knitting, and i lose interest when attempting to scrapbook.... but i really appreciate other people's results at those two!
Current favorites are art metal, concrete sculpting, and printmaking.
If you are interested in doing a one on one swap dealing with Handmade Cards or Linoleum prints, message me!
I'm always in the mood for a new scarf, pens and markers (I'm actually in need of a new fountain pen), and new recipes to try. Postcards (especially artsy, graffiti, or art nouveau ones), cameos, funky fabric, fun tea (any flavor, caffeine or no...it's all good), tea accessories, cool copper cookie cutters, embossing tools, and things involved in making my own resin stuff (I've not yet tried this and really WANT to).... are all things that would make me jump up and down when I saw them in my mailbox :)

OMG, your package is GREAT... Now I feel like a queen with my little pets... haah thanks for such cool artistic work. YOu will have to show me how you make these so nice and stiff. Thanks again.
Just a heads up, @BScrappy who owes you a swap from April is logging in and joining new swaps. Maybe you can get the flake made up finally. Good luck!
Hi Laima, Your Pass and Paste postcard is on its way home. Thank you.
Latvian events in MI! Have you ever been to Camp Dainava, near Manchester MI?
Latvia joke from Soviet era, as told by science school teacher at our middle school; "What did the potato say to the other potato?" "The premise is absurd. Who has 2 potatoes??"
Best told with silly accent.
Thank you so much for working on Pass and Paste postcard! It turned out great and I love that everyone shared a little of themselves and where they live. It took awhile to get home but it was worth the wait! Round B was missed so it just had to catch up. LOL!
Welcome to Swap-Bot!
