Long-time cross stitcher, newbie embroiderer (apologies if spelling is a little dodgy!) from Brisbane in Australia.

I work and study, so my stitching projects (at last count I had three on the go...) don't get the attention they deserve.

Love that there is a community like this, full of like-minded crafty folk!

P.S. I'm very much a newbie, so please go easy on me for a little while! :)

Anything that has a good story, is easy to read and makes me want to read it again as soon as I've finished.

I've generally got about four books open at any one time...much like my many stitching projects I have going!

...cupcakes!!1! ...really good coffee. I can't drink a lot of it (doc's orders) so when I do, it had better be good! ...tea. Lots and lots of tea. Green, herbal or white are best; not the biggest fan of black tea. ...pin up girl artwork. Actually, anything pin up or rockabilly-related is more than ok with me. ...bright colours, in both my stitchings and my clothes. DMC threads are the best! ...football (soccer). I love it, and won't miss a game when my team is at home! ...FOOD. I love to cook and am learning the benefits of cooking from scratch, rather than opening a jar. ...music. Any sort of music. It calms me down, revs me up before a night out, and keeps me focused on my studies (especially helpful when competing with a last-minute deadline!). I don't know what I'd do without it.

...for these smashing bits and pieces that will add to my already overflowing stitching case...

• cloth/fabric. Bright colours, neutral colours...it's all good.
• threads. Any randoms you no longer need or use, I will give it a good home.
• patterns patterns patterns! I love collecting new patterns for both embroidery and x-stitching, and can often be found cruising etsy for kitschy patterns.
