I am a SAHM to my two+ year old son. Hubby is a grad student at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. He retired from the Marines last year and we relocated to Central Coast CA so he could attend school.
I've been a member of my local quilt guild, Central Coast Quilters, for over a year. I've been the treasurer for the guild this year and will continue on next year even though they work me to death some months. :) I enjoy sewing and have been active with my guild's philanthropy quilting group as well as a nonprofit project called Days for Girls (see www.projectthrive.org).
I have been quilting and learning to sew for about 7 years or so. I tend to make simple quilts even though I absolutely love star and pineapple blocks. My longest UFO at this point is a pineapple star large wallhanging. It's all paperpieced but I don't have an outer border picked out.
I find that I like to buy lots of red and blue fabrics. :) I generally love most fabric but have a hard time buying orange, green and brown. I only recently started to acquire batik and kid/novelty prints (my son is not quite three). I don't have ANY 1930s repros or asian fabrics because I'd have to start a whole new fabric stash just for them, KWIM? LOL
Anne of Green Gables (all), Gladiator, Man from Snowy River (and sequel), Steel Magnolias, Ice Age, Finding Nemo, The Lion King, Band of Brothers (HBO)
The Good Wife, Frasier, Will & Grace, Sex & The City, Life (wish they would have continued it), Sons of Anarchy, Medium, Royal Pains
