Hi! My name is Rei. I was born and raised in Los Angeles and now rest my head and my heart in Honolulu, Hawaii. I live smack between Diamond Head Crater and Waikiki Beach with my wonderful and supportive husband and our sweet Welsh Corgi. The funny thing is that while my husband is an avid surfer, I am very uncomfortable in the water. Unfortunate or not, it just gives me more time to do what I love most- to work with my hands and make things.
To entertain myself, I’m constantly experimenting with different materials and techniques. Most times my projects turn out, though sometimes…not. In the end it’s all fine with me because if anything, the process itself is usually interesting and I’m always learning something new. My latest projects involve turning everyday papers and plastics into wearable objects. It’s slow going, but I’m getting better at recycling more and more everyday.
My favorite colors are greens and browns ( woodsy hues) and ocean blues.
Jewelry, chainmaille, sewing, crochet, embroidery...
My newbie favorites are papermaking, weaving, and felting.

I hang out at the museum and art galleries.
I poke around online for inspiration from all of the amazingly talented people out there.
I watch indie films.
I LOVE to collect tools, craft supplies, and books and magazines on crafting!
I also collect drums and percussion instruments that I hope to be able play one day.
