I live in the wet NORTHWEST....by water and sea....Not sure that I could ever live any place else, wouldn't want to become "landlocked". Married to my honey of 23 years, with one son, two cats and a dog by default (that would be the dog, of course). Update: Our son has left the coop (hi~five to us) after being tied up from his motorcycle encounter~he didn't end up on top:his bike did. BUT he's all healed up and back working (he did graduate from college on time).
***note 3/17 We found a really funny magnet in Hawaii for our son "YOU can't call it an empty nest when they havn't gotten their stuff out of your garage" He was not amused.
The picture is that of my grandmother, taken in 1925. I was named after her~well the english version not the Swedish one!
My husband & I love to travel~We're aiming for the seven continents by the time we are 55 (we're saving the USA for when we are old, lol) We've been to most of the 50 states but need to revisit and take it slower when we have the time. Gosh I can't beleive that we've done it but we actully have booked a trip for Jan of 2009? Where does time go?
Places that I'm working on are: Colosseum in Italy (1979), Great wall in China (2003), Chichenitza in Mexico (2001,2005,2008), Taj Mahal in India(2009), Petra in Jordan, Christ Redeemer in Brazil, Machu Picchu in Peru (2010 for my 50th birthday present!)
Great Barrier Reef, AU (1995 & Nov 2008), Eiffell Tower in Paris (1979), Pyramids of Giza, Stonehenge in UK (1978), Easter Island Chile, Angkor in Cambodia(2009), St. Basil in Russia, Alhambra in Spain (3/2008), Statue of Liberty NYC,USA (1985)
Grand Canyon, USA (2000), Victoria Falls Zambia, Amazon River Bolivia, Mt Kilimanjaro Tanzania.
I'm working my way off the list~I've see many wonderful places (here and overseas, don't get me wrong) but I just need to see these before I die. I think this makes me a Gypsy? Or someone who wishes they worked for National Geography Magazine!
We love to spend time at our tiny lake cabin (ok by standards the cabin is tiny, not the toy garage or deck's or docks, it's all in the property taxing part, lol) in the Olympic's. Many good times have been had there. Love to watch the shooting stars.....listening to Bob Seger or Stevie Ray Vaughan :.) You can checkout our tiny place at by emailing me!!
My favortie colors are greens~think water, sea and forest with a bit of fire.
If for some reason you have not received a swap from me then please email me~I would be happy to track it down!! I've been a swap-bot swap since January 2007? I think?.
classic ROCK~some country~disco(why yes, I am a child of the 70's) from Bob Seger to the Jackson 5
Any of them that end happy ~oh and Musicals~
Survivor, Amazing Race, Men in Trees~those I can't miss~the rest I Tivo!
Enjoy pen paling, swaps and scrapbooking, altered books, atc's......anything that deals with paper....
Guess I should add this part - Don't like :( People who seem to have a collection of forum drama! We all know who you are!
Black licorice, socks that have toes (mine are too fat LOL), Spiders (except Halloween), sour candy, I enjoy doing scrap book & stamping, I own nothing of Hello Kitty (just things I picked up for other people in swaps, since I started swapping), Betty Boop, Care Bears or Disney.
I do love anything with coffee (come on, I was born in the town that gave birth to Starbucks?)and anything handmade (I know effort went into it and that's what counts!)
I'm not a stickler for swaps that arrive late (other then more then a month? or if you had posted that your mailing them and then mail two months later, give me a brake) as long as I do receive an email! Don't act suprised and start drama cause your the cause of your rating, it's called "Karma"
My take on the "heart" system: If you make me "laugh or go WOW" when I open my envelope, then you've warmed my heart and deserve one!
If you haven't heard from me, that's because were in Hawaii the first part of March (you know it should be AZ watching the boys of summer now shouldn't it)? If you have not been rated, please allow me until the 18th to do so, then let me know and I will make sure that I rate you or track down what or where it's at.
The following people have sent me stuff but I can't fine the swap that you were in? Please email me and let me know so that I can rate you:
