Description:

Quote/Poem/Word 4x 4 ½ chunky book pages.

International

Cardstock – at least 110 or index weight for base. Any medium – paint, paper, collage, drawing etc. Please do not use cardboard or chipboard for these pages.

Cut your base 4 x 4 ½. Leave ½ on the left side clear of embellishments for binding. Some will not want the ½ for binding so it’s important that you don’t put anything essential to your work in that space. Some will cut it off; others who do not use rings for binding will also completely cover that space with binding material.

Use a phrase, quote or single word on the page and work your page to include or represent your choice. You could also use a color as your theme. You are not required or expected to use profiles as your inspiration for this swap.

Although some consider chunky to mean heavily embellished, for the sake of shipping I am not requiring heavy thick inclusions. Ribbon, lace, flat-ish buttons and charms, flat-sided beads or rhinestones ect. Will probably make more sense for this swap.

Hosting and participating in group swaps is new to all of us. In the spirit of inclusion and assuming that people are here because they share an interest in making and sharing chunky pages all members are welcomed to join this swap. Should your ratings begin to slide or serious swapping issues come to light you may be dropped before partners are assigned.

Per the comments in the forum I am setting this swap to 10 partners. If we don’t have that many join I will edit to lower the number to 1 less than the total number of swappers.

You may make all your pages identical but they must be handmade and NOT photocopies. If there is any confusion about what this means please ask for clarification.

If I have overstated or over explained anything in this swap, please forgive me. On one hand I assume that most of the above is known by most swappers in this group. On the other hand I don’t want to leave things unclear for those who may be newer or may have swapped with very different requirements.

Since we don’t need to see profiles before starting work I’m setting a longer sign-up time, then a couple of weeks to finish and send them out.

The swap can be edited with a few keystrokes so lets be open to discussion and adjustments if need be.

Looks great to me! Well done (and thank you ;) ) for kick starting the group swaps :)

Thanks - I love making these little books and even more I like having pages by different artists. I may repeat it at least once more with the understanding that we must choose a different quote than we've used in the first one.

Hi I love the idea, as does Hag53, of haveing the pages done by differnt artists. Thank you for thinking of it, hugs :-)

Can you please clarify what is to be on the back of the pages. Thank you :)

Denise 02/10/2008 #

Are we sending out 10 pages or 9?

I just need clarification because I want to end up with one of my pages to keep :-)

jakfrostwife 02/10/2008 #

If it says 10 that how many your sending~ so you'll want to make 11 if your keeping one for yourself~

I'm a little confused as to the size? You state that it should be 4x4.25 but not to do anything on the .25 part? "Some will not want the ½ for binding so it’s important that you don’t put anything essential?" Gosh, mine are done and that's where I add my information on the back side.....I'll rethink that part. Also we are to do the back side? Mine are on both size but the quote is on the front side?

jakfrostwife 02/14/2008 #

oopes, I ment 4x4 1/2.......not 4.25? Good think I can cut and not type....lol

jakfrostwife 02/29/2008 #

Mine are off in the mail with lot's of stamps on all the envelopes! My mail guy kept asking why I didn't want metered stamps~I had to explan (again) that my partners want stamps on their envleopes! That's half the fun to see them~so if your overseas from the USA (you got the pretty ones & lots of tape) The rest of ya, ah use them on ATC's!! LOL Jakfrostwife

Ugh, sorry everyone - I gave mine to my parents to post for me when I met up with them for lunch before Easter, to save time, but I spoke to her after Khiaramai's seemed to arrive so late - apparently she only posted them just after Easter :( Sorry if they take a while to get to you all... :/
