My family is my husband of 10+ years, and our cats, Caterpillar and Sunshine.

I am a librarian in the United States - think mod, pierced, and purple hair, not blue hair and sensible shoes.

I like photography, my digital camera goes everywhere with me.

I like to garden, though I live in an apartment so it is container gardening for now. Some day I would love to have a vegetable garden.

I like to travel. We go on day trips locally, and road trips occasionally. I have only been a few places outside the US. I like to experience the culture of new places in more than a tourist way.

I love to cook. If I were to take up a second career it would be a food stylist. I try to make every dish I make a pretty one, as well as one that tastes good. I have been vegetarian for a while, and like the challenge of cooking vegan food that people don't even realize is vegan.

I have always loved carrots. Baby carrots, carrot sticks, carrots roasted with soy sauce and olive oil, Carrot juice (fresh with some ginger in it is my favorite). I actually like all vegetables and most fruits, but carrots have been my absolute favorite food since I was a kid.

I like spicy things with flavor. A Good Peri peri sauce is a nice hot sauce.

My favorite snacks are salty ones with a bit of sweet maybe.

My favorite candy bar is a tie between payday and take 5.

My favorite meal is a bowl of noodles - especially if I can eat it with chopsticks.

not to put in some negativity, but sadly I am allergic to anything with mango in it or shellfish - I know, odd combination, but please do not send anything with either of these ingredients in it - Thank you ;)

My favorite book is Neuromancer by William Gibson, it is from the 70s,and is from the cyber punk genre. I also like the black Company series (post apocolyptic sci fi) and can get into other fiction as well.

I like collections of short stories, my favorite is Lone Ranger and Tonto fist fight in heaven by Sherman Alexie, I also like Bastard on the couch - a collection of non fiction by men in response to another good anthology called the Bitch in the house. And a friend gave me a great collection called Dog is my co-pilot.

I also read cook books - seriously, and food science books. I highly recommend the book "Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the world" for both vegans and those who just like cupcakes.

My favorite color is dark purple. The colors I tend to wear are light blue, red and brown - not all at once though. I like things that are bright and cheery looking to, and my inner angst comes out occasionally with the blacks and greys.

I crochet, knit and sew. I also consider cooking a craft. I take photographs, and occasionally I delve into other areas. I tend to go for the handmade items when swapping. If I can make it that is what I try to send.

I collect chopsticks - the ones for eating, not for wearing in your hair.

I also collect postcards. I have a few hundred of them, and have been collecting them since I was a teenager. I adhere them to ribbon and hang them up in my office. It is fun to watch visitors try to see them all.

I also have frogs and ladybugs (stuffies, figurines and kitsch.) They are not really collections on purpose, but I like things with them on it.
