I love my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I love my hubby and daughters, ages 12 and 10. We are homeschoolers. I am a doctoral student, but hopefully not for much longer!
I have taken the time to list some likes and disklikes because I understand the importance of trying to determine what your swap partner might or might not like. But, in the true spirit of swapping, we are appreciative of whatever you have chosen to put time, effort, and money into acquiring for us and sending to us!
I love pink, and always have; I am glad that it is popular these days, so I don't have to be embarrassed to be an adult and still like it. I also like red (but not necessarily pink and red together). There is lots of red in my house, with touches of brown and brown-type colors (i.e., tan, beige, taupe, etc). I like most colors, but I could definitely do without blue.
My style is a cross between traditional and contemporary. I don't like the sleek, steel-pipes-and-cement-floors look, but I do not like blue floral striped sofas and ornate Queen Anne furnishings with crocheted doilies either (although I like crocheting granny squares and doilies; go figure). My yarn preference these days is for something very soft (as I have sensitive skin), so it can be Lorna's Laces sock yarn or something equally soft.
I prefer not to receive edibles in swaps (I'm trying to watch my girlish figure!). I also do not like dark (noir) items/images.
For yarn swaps, my current obsession is knitted socks, and Lorna's Laces Shepherd sock yarn is about the only sock yarn my sensitive skin can tolerate. Two skeins (enough for a pair of socks) can be purchased for $20 or less (online--eBay, the Knitting Zone, etc). My skin is SO sensitive that I can't really wear anything else; the wool/nylon blend in the Lorna's Laces Shepherd sock yarn agrees with me.
Contemporary gospel, jazz
Don't watch it!
We are cutting back on swaps, and being much more selective. It is bad enough when someone flakes on me; but my daughters have now been flaked on two or more times, and that is, I think, just rotten to flake on children.
My passion is sewing these days.
