I like to quilt. I've been doing a lot of that lately. I've also started participating in the "I Found a Quilted Heart" project, but only one of my hearts have been reported as found : (
My interests are ever-changing. I have new obsessions almost everyday. I love to learn odd pieces of information and travel off-the-beaten-path. I enjoy anything unique or unusual.
Im on Postcrossing! I'm on Pinterest!
I just got on Facebook. I don't twitter, or Flicker, or Instagram, or whatever, but I am a member of the National Letter Writers Alliance and I love pen-palling.
Scrapbooking, Papercrafting, Quilting, Cross stitch, Embroidery...just making stuff. I like making stuff. My hands need to feel useful. My mind needs time to wander.
Reign, The Tudors, The Great British baking Show, Downton abbey, Home Fires, and some others, I just can't think of them right now....I'm also really looking forwad to Mercy Street. Sometimes I like Homicide Hunter w/ Lt. Joe Kenda, but I have to be in the mood for that sorta thing. I enjoy nature shows, science related topics, how things are made, odd jobs, historical recreations like the Tudor Monastery Farm series, and Worst Jobs in History.
I don't care much for "reality" tv. I don't like it at all, actually. I was just trying to be polite.
The Age of Adeline, The Perks of Being A Wallflower, Beaches, Never Let Me Go, Dirty Dancing, Beetlejuice, anything with Tom Hanks or Julia Roberts, and I LOVE historical dramas and documentaries.
I'm such a grandma. Don't laugh.
I have a book case full of medieval history and historical fiction, one for non fiction and biographies, and another for haunted historical places. I have several shelves in one case filled with "how to draw" books, one for spiritual junk (non-religous), and another for quilting patterns...oh, and I cant forget - I have another book case for cookbooks and cocktails. I love food photogtaphy.
Learn about my heritage in Japan
The castles, countryside, and rivers of England - specifically the Tower of London and Hampton Court
Visit a friend in France and tour the castles there
Pub Crawl in Scotland and Ireland
Zanzibar! I want to see the sea turtle rescue center in Zanzibar.
...and a gazillion more (I just need more time to list them)
Tea- Mmmm. Whats not to love about tea? From the beverage itself to the cup its served in, with sugar and cream, and scones and all...its an enjoyable thing for me. I'm always keep my eye out for new cups to add to my collection. As far as what I like to drink, I'm traditional. I love a good black, oolong or white tea. But I also really enjoy floral, citrus, and herbal teas, ...or a good handcrafted blend. I am not, however, a big fan of spicy flavors, with the exception of apple cider flavors. I've recently decided that I like mint tea, too. - thats something new for me.
Fabric - Mmmm. Whats not to love about fabric? especially thick, soft, 100% cotton quilting fabric with pretty colors and patterns... I'm really eclectic in my tastes. I like everything from civil war reproductions to modern colors and typographical prints. Right now I'm collecting peach and green colors for a Peach & Green quilt. I also pick up different fat quarters from every state I visit. My plan is to make a US Map Quilt with each state appliqued in the fabric I got from it. I may never get that one finished! Some of my favorite designers are Robert Hoffman, Bunny Hill Designs, Moda, Alexander Henry, or anything with an Asian print. But my most favorite of favorites is any print with a rabbit on it (non easter) - specifically Japanese, but who's being picky? ; ) There's not much I don't like, but I'd probably prefer not to receive novelty prints. They are cute, and I do enjoy them, but they're hard to incorporate into many of my projects. And maybe I don't like Mod prints so much, or holiday fabric.
Soap - Mmmm. Whats not to love about soap? I'm a sucker for a lovely, fragrant hand soap. I particularly enjoy floral scents like peony, sweet pea, honeysuckle, rose, and sometimes jasmine. Anything by Pre De Provence is delightful. I also find the fragrances at Cost Plus World Market nice, too.
