I just found out about swap-bot from a friend. I'm creatively-inclined and have done lots of artsy type of things in the past and am looking to do more as well as connect with new and interesting people.
In my day-to-day life, I have a background as a marine biologist and looking to find the right fit in my job. I'm thinking about going for my PhD and would like to focus on marine conservation. I've also recently joined the Coast Guard Auxiliary (the volunteer faction of the Coast Guard) and am having a blast crew-training.
So it goes without saying I love all things ocean or aquatic, as well as the outdoors in general. I'm fascinated by science.
I love writing and love to imbue all my writing - from science journalism to poetry - with a sense of passion. I'm also deeply connected to music. I sing and have been in a couple bands in the past.
I also have recently gotten into yoga and love the idea of taking time to honor myself and the world around me.
I love music and sing at open mics.
I love music so my lists tend to be extensive. I listen to a lot of indie rock but really embrace lots of different styles.

I've joined swap-bot to indulge in my creativity more often. The kinds of crafts I've done in the past have involved crocheting and making jewelry among other things. I like jewelry that tends to be more delicate and sophisticated. A friend recently introduced me to the idea of ATCs and I'm totally intrigued.
I am hoping to see what makes other creative people tick and am looking forward to receiving little bits of art from other people. I joined the mermaid group as that's a more recent infatuation, along with older interests like bunnies and ocean-themed ideas.
I like writing and want to do some creative journaling with other people and perhaps swap poems, and other types of things like hand-written notes.
I like recipes, especially some that are a bit different. I do eat meat, but not excessively, and really have tried to incorporate healthier ingredients into my diet.
