I'm a kindergarten teacher at a Philadelphia public school. I'm a huge DIY-er, and most of my daydream time is spent renovating my future home :). I'm planning a wedding for June 2008.
My aesthetic style tends towards "vintage modern" - I love clean lines, minimalist shapes, orange/blue/brown combinations, and variegated stripes. But I also love the shabby chic style of Victorian ephemera, fleur-de-lis patterns, and antique milk glass. I'm not too into kawaii or anime, but I love to travel internationally, so I enjoy the art and culture of countries outside of the US. I'm a big time "city girl" - I love exploring neighborhoods and downtowns of as many cities as I can get to, and I can't imagine living anywhere outside of one.
I love all fiber crafts, especially sewing and crocheting. I spent a few years as a craftpreneur making one-of-a-kind handbags out of vintage and recycled fabrics. I got to be REALLY GOOD at sewing bags, and then I got bored doing my hobby as my job!
I've dabbled in dozens of crafts... jewelry making, soap & candle pouring, upholstery, embroidery, polymer clay, ceramic and traditional clay work, etc. Now my favorite craft is sewing baby kimonos from my vintage fabric stash. They make handy baby presents, especially since practically everyone I know is pregnant!
Grey's Anatomy, The Office, Project Runway, Property Ladder
I'm an avid reader, but I've got a terrible memory for titles. Recent good reads: Rubies & Garlic, The Last Chinese Chef.
Josh Ritter, Ray LaMontagne, Cut Chemist, Iron & Wine, and any NPR podcast I can get my hands on!
