Friend of the fae ;)
Those are just a few of the words I'd use to describe myself. I'm a typical nerd/geek and proud of it. I'm illiterate in several languages (re-read that...) and I have a degree in mathematics.
I can quote Star Trek 2 start to finish as well as I can quote Grease and Singing in the Rain.
Yes I'm male and yes I like fae. I especially like the work of Brian and Wendy Froud. (Consequently I'm not gay- not that I have a problem with gay people, several relatives and friends of mine are gay- what I am tired of is the implication that because I like crafts, fae, and musicals that I must be- come on people ;)
I am new to swap-bot, and have only been in a few swaps, so please be patient with me if I screw something up out of ignorance.
My girlfriend just joined the site as well, and she is quite the artist. Together we recently made some art cards that were well received.
I am open to all kinds of swaps, and am like getting what ever the sender likes to make. I think part of the magic of swaps is not knowing what is coming...
I spend much of my free time creating magic and mystery for others, because I don't believe there is enough wonder in the world anymore. (Google has killed mystery.)- So I enjoy including little surprises in my swaps....
***I am happy to receive darn near anything. Being 'picky' about what is sent isn't the reason I'm here. I appreciate effort, and beyond that I don't care if I "like" what is sent- I can be appreciative of intent and such... I find the bickering going on in the forums to be a waste of time and energy.
As a bookbinder, it follows that I'm an antiquarian as well...
As a kid I read lots of Tolkien, Asimov, Clarke, Bradbury, and the like.
These days I tend to read technical books or even textbooks for enjoyment. My personal library contains foreign language dictionaries for over 100 different languages, and a large collection of books about bookbinding and the history of books (how recursive is that?!?)
Ok, I love movies. Let me say that again, I LOVE movies. This list is neither exhaustive or in any particular order. (Click the titles for YouTube Videos!)
Labyrinth
LostboYs
Amelie (One of the greatest movies of ALL time)
Real Genius
Hackers
Pump Up the Volume
Tron
Fright Night II
Singing In The Rain
Grease
The Hobbit (1977)
I'll add to the list later...
My tv tastes change from day to day- and I often have either a tv show or movie playing in the background while I work on various projects, so I see quite a bit- Lately I've been really into UK television...
Again, here's a list, in no particular order (clickable):
Community
The Mighty Boosh!!!
Ballykissangel
FreakyLinks
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Angel
Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps
Dr. Who
More to come...
Hand bookbinding- everything from period correct bindings, archival study and preservation, to experimental ways of binding found objects or scrap.
Electronics. Yes I consider it a craft. If you're ever in a swap with me you may find out why...
Knitting. Taught myself to knit because I wanted a Harry Potter scarf.
Sewing. I'm experimenting with sewing + (other crafts)- such as sewing electronics into shirts, etc.
Paper crafts of most kinds.
I like to experiment and try new things. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't.

I've come to announce that I will be looking for someone to Angel me for a monthly journal but am still willing to change your rating to a 3 instead of a 1 if you intend to follow through on the February journal (which I would love and have been patiently waiting and crossing my fingers).
It's been two weeks since the send date for Feb. Journal and your side still says 'not sent.' Everything ok over there?
I love you, Lost Boy!
YES! Bowie! Awesome :D
Yeah I have been one of the few dudes around here for a few years. Don't really mind it, except that I get people that assume I'm female sometimes and end up with envies of pink flowery things on occasion, LOL. No big deal, though.
Another dude! Awesome! Hi :D You sound rad, I was just creeping your profile...saw you in Blacklisted. Welcome to the Bot!
Aaah, I am your sender in the Lots-o-Mail Robot swap and was perusing your profile. I thoroughly enjoyed myself while doing so and just wanted to let you know.
Happy swapping! Kelly K
Oh Hurray! Someone who appreciates the awesome Jane Lane! :D You brightened my day with that comment :3
You have a damn fine list of interests here, Major Kudos to you too!
我很好,谢谢ï¼ä½ å‘¢?
Thank for alerting me to the fact that there is a Somewhere In Time fanclub! It is and always will be my favorite movie.
