Description:

The idea of this swap is to make whoever reads your postcard wonder what you're talking about!

You will have two (2) partners that you will send one (1) postcard to each one. The postcards can be store bought or handmade. They need to be sent without an envelope so that everyone can see what you wrote.

As for what to write on the postcard, pick up any book and choose a few sentences or a paragraph and hand write it in the message area of your postcard. Any book, any page, any excerpt. The more odd it sounds the better. You'd be amazed at how odd one piece taken out of a book can sound.

Please include the book title somewhere on the postcard but try to put it somewhere that makes it not too obvious that your message comes from a book.

Newbies welcome with a well filled out profile. I will angel if needed but scorn to those who flake!

What a great idea!

What about non English speaking countries?

milla444 01/26/2013 #

Mokuren: I read books only in my native language (Finnish) but I thought that I'll go to library and check there some English books ;)

PrincessB 01/26/2013 #

I would say that if you want you can check who you will be sending to when the time comes and if you know the language of their country then you could send it in that language (such as if you get a partner that is in your same country then feel free to use your countries language) otherwise probably use English. If your passage you choose isn't too big and you can write small you may be able to fit in both your language and a translation.

i would be willing to recieve a pc with a message in another language and use a translator to see what it says! i think that would be fun!

Would you mind if I typed the sentence/paragraph, then put it on (my handwriting leaves something to be desired, especially if I'm doing 2 of them!)?

PrincessB 02/ 1/2013 #

If you really feel that you must type it then I suppose it will work. Hand writing is preferred if possible but I understand that it's not always possible. Just be sure that the type is well attached if you stick it to the postcard.

Terrific idea!

i also wouldn't mind someone getting a pc in another language.

You do not have to put the swap name on the postcard but if you can put it somewhere that it's not too obvious then feel free to do so. Remember that your partner has to be able to come back and rate you and some may be in other postcard swaps or even on other swap sites. So please put at least your user name on here and swap-bot.com somewhere on the postcard.

I so love this!

I hope I didn't make it too obvious that my message was from a book... Can't wait to receive from my senders. :)

That was one of the best swaps I took part with a long time.
