30-something, video game producer, Seattle (by way of Oakland). I have a pug and two cats. I'm queer, vegetarian, gluten free (yay IBS!!), and straight edge (but could care less if you are none of these things! ;) )... Homebody/introvert. Shower singer, and bedroom dancer... pleased to meet you!
In short, I'm all about: video games, printmaking, my pug, chocolate, snail mail, crafting, sewing, and baking.
I also love handmade/DIY, art/illustration, kawaii, zines, playlists/reading recommendations, letters, washi (especially really awesome geometrics and really elaborate scenics), unusual/art stickers, polaroid/instax type photos, celestial/constellation stuff, Adventure Time (especially Marcelline/Marshall Lee/Bubblegum/Fiona/Cake), Sailor Moon!, hand carved stamps/prints, fruit decaf teas, anything grapefruit scented/flavored, mail art, cute animals (goats, ponies, sheep, bats, llamas!! and all number of birds), good pens, cute/interesting pins, nice/well made sewing notions, shrinky-dinks, cell phone charms, cute crochet patterns, skulls/bones/macabre... and so much more!
Video game loves: anything Zelda, Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley. (I'm a Nintendo fangirl at heart... lover of Yoshi games, and Princess Peach karter... I also love cute indie games and good puzzle games!)
Colors: teal/turquoise/cerulean!! Black/white, mint and gold!
*Loose glitter
*Sports
*Anything religious
*Anything overtly sexist/racist/homophobic/transphobic/downright hateful
*Heavily scented items
*Coconut/banana scented/flavored things
To give you an idea of the things I like to do in my "spare" time -- I've been focusing on doing a lino-cut printed envelope every month (for all of my snail mail correspondence). Here's the lineup so far! (See more on my Instagram!)
*January *February *March *April *May *June *July *August *September *October *November *December
This is such a tough one for me, since I read voraciously... but here's a list... incomplete and not in any particular order, of books I loved reading:
*Number 9 Dream by David Mitchell
*The Gone-Away World by Nick Harkaway
*Blindness by Jose Saramago
*The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros
*The Sparrow by Mary Doria Russell (and her follow up, Children of God)
*Palimpsest by Catherynne Valente
*The Diamond Age by Neal Stephenson
*The Magicians trilogy by Lev Grossman
*Brown Girl Dreaming by Jacqueline Woodson
*American Gods by Neil Gaiman
*Fragrant Harbor by John Lanchester
*Kitchen by Banana Yoshimoto
*Saga series by Brian Vaughan
*Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
*Soon I Will Be Invincible by Austin Grossman
*Emperor Mollusk versus The Sinister Brain by A. Lee Martinez
*The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood
*Silo books by Hugh Howey
*His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman
*Blue Ant trilogy by William Gibson (especially Zero History!)
*The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot DÃaz
*Battle Royale by Koushun Takami
Again, this is a tough one... I listen to just about everything -- but I'm a bit of an indie snob at heart. Check out this playlist for an idea of what I might listen to on an average day. You might even find something you like!! (Please be warned: there are tons of tracks in the playlist that contain profanity and/or graphic lyrics.)
