About Me

Greetings Fellow Swappers!

I STILL have one swap that is not sent out which is Procrastination swap. ALL others have been mailed out. HALLELUJAH!

Thank you coming by to visit my profile page. It got longer than I anticipated because I tend to ramble on, use too many words, and add unnecessary detail. Ho-hum, story of my life. I live in the upper Midwest in the US of A. I am addicted to crafting AND swapping and have a hard time not signing up for all the terrific swaps ya'all are hosting!

Will you do me a favor when you send out my swap packages? Please enclose a letter. Sometimes I get swap packages without any note at all. :-( I love to hear about you, where you live, what your weather is like, what is a typical day like for you, where did you go when you last went out with friends or the honey, do you have special traditions, just write a bit about yourself. I just so love that!!!

I have six amazing children (3 boys & 3 girls) and would be a mother perpetually and for always if I could. Recently, I became a mother-in-law for the first time and have a lovely daughter-in-law. This delightful change means I am learning a new parenting dance.
My youngest is almost 3 and I enjoy her immensely! Toddlers are SO funny. She makes us laugh every day.

Joy is my constant prayer petition, that I would live it and show it in every day life.

I love to craft and create, embellishing every day items makes me smile. Been wishing I had more self-motivation and discipline to complete projects! I admit I am not very organized and perhaps that holds me back. I get very passionate about my projects and probably border on complusive/obsessive because I collect everything! :-) I have been sewing for about 20 years and have bins of fabric and patterns. Started knitting about three years ago (mostly felting)and I now have a cedar chest of delicious yarns. Been quilting for about 5, but just finished my first bed quilt last summer, although I have a dozen or so projects started and several quilt blocks completed. Sewing for my 2 year old is also something I enjoy. I love to sew bags, purses or totes. I also scrapbook and have a whole closet full of scrapbook supplies which I also use to make greeting cards. Rubber stamping is another addiction I dabble in.

Crafting is almost like therapy for me: stressful, but cathartic, sometimes painful, but worthwhile. I want more {whimsy](http://www.weewonderfuls.com/make-a-long/) in my life.

Because I seldom make anything for myself, I love getting your handmade items via Swap-Bot. I struggle with feeling undeserving and have a very difficult time keeping things for myself.

I have discovered I am not only a Swap-bot addict, but I am also an over-achiever. I have about half a dozen swaps going out each week! Boy has my postage budget SKYROCKETED.

I am an admirer of jewel tones, deep rich magenta, burgundy, eggplant, aubergine - - these are the colors I wear and drool at. Most any shade of purple I like.

I find earth tones soothing, but livened with splashes of color. You'll see me wearing lots of brown tones. And my new bag is aqua/turquoise and tan with flowers.

My bathroom was newly decorated by a friend, she picked the colors and it is bright cheerful blue, purple and deep grass green. I always need fresh smelling blue, green or white candles for the bathroom.

My living room has sand colored walls, is decorated shabby chic with shades of burgundy floral upholstery and beige window coverings. My sleeping room is vibrant with all shades of purple, accented with black. I just LOVE color!!!!

Coffee is one of my all-time favorite beverages, but water is number one. I know, boring!!!
I drink Folgers half-caffeinated on a daily basis.
I generally drink my coffee black, but do occasionally indulge in General Foods International coffee and flavored creamers.
When craving a specialty drink I go to Dunn Brothers for a Mocha Steamer with whipped cream, and I like Caribou Coffee as well. I drink tea nearly every night and truly enjoy my tea! Since starting Swap-Bot I have had several tea exchanges, oh what joy! I am trying flavors and blends I would not have bought and love the variety. I am liking some of the spicy blends like ginger spice and Chai blends. If you can find me Lychee with rose tea, I would be ever so grateful; I got some in a Flat Goodie's Swap from Malaysia (the brand was Boh Seri Songket).

In Peru I fell in love with fresh fruit juice. Every morning they whipped up them up in the blender: papaya, mango, prickly pear, orange... I guess you could say I am all about the beverages. :-) So send me tea, coffee, mocha, and/or hot chocolate anytime!

I also love eating chocolate and am enjoying dark chocolate more and more - it's so rich. When I eat my chocolate I savor it and let it melt in my mouth. I dissect candy bars and eat them in layers. Yes, I am on the odd side. I eat Almond Joy, Dove, peanut or almond M & M's, Pearson's Salted Nut Roll, Peppermint Patty, I'm not too picky on my chocolate.

Check out my blog, the link at the top of this profile is my craft blog.

PLEASE sign my guest book AND leave a comment, especially if I have posted about something I sent or received that you were involved in; it helps me feel less lonely. :-)

I also have a Flickr account you can view.

Small Print Disclaimer: Sorry, but I don't care for Kawaii or I just am not into "cutesy" things: cartoonish stuff, Hello Kitty, animal themed items, Disney, any of that. Also don't celebrate halloween, Santa, or the Easter bunny. Additionally, I don't collect ATC cards, many are beautiful and I have made some and will make some again, but I don't care to collect them right now.

Favorite Music

I like Mercy Me, Margaret Becker, Burlap to Cashmere, Third Day, Jennifer Knapp, The Newsboys, Hokus Pick, Maranatha Music, WOW hits, Jars of Clay, Parachute Band, Rich Mullins. Usually I choose instrumental, because there is typically a lot of noise around here. :-) I like violin, piano and guitar music. I especially like praise music like Hillsong or Maranatha Music.

Favorite Movies

I love to watch movies and usually have one on while knitting. Favorites: Nicholas Nickleby, Sense and Sensibility, Emma, Forrest Gump, BBC Pride And Prejudice, Little House on the Prairie, Love Comes Softly, Sahara, You've Got Mail, The Importance of Being Ernest

Favorite Television

I don't usually watch TV, but do watch a lot of movies via DVD.

Favorite Crafts

KNITTING/felting, sewing, quilting, scrapbooking of all sorts, making cards, embellishing journals. I seldom make something for myself so I thought this swap would be a fun way to indulge. :-) I plan to learn how to create altered art, like books, journals, art dolls. I love to make Christmas ornaments and have a collection of angels, many are hand-crafted.

Comment: Updated 9/2/07: Just got the package yesterday and I really do love it. In fact, if it weren't for the timing issues, it would have been unquestionably heart-worthy. Better late than never though! I'm glad things seem to be going better for you and I hope they continue to do so. Thanks so much.

Comment: I was amazed to see anything on this swap. Thank you, Chy! I think i know how you've been feeling - I had post-partum depression after my daughter was born. I'm glad to hear that you're trying to get yourself back. Thank you for all the goodies to entertain my kids! With a three day weekend ahead, I think these things will come in handy!

Comment: Personal problems or not, I have had plenty myself, even deep dark depression. But I think it should have been possible to drop something at the post office between June 30th and end of August. I have a lot of empathy but at least a little note would have been nice.
Response: This has been sent.

I'm back online. I have finally gotten my computer set up. I am not really moved yet cuz I still have my apartment in Houston. So that address is still ok to send to. It may take me awhile to get it since I'm about 300 miles away. My son is in Houston and is collecting my mail. I have updated my profile with my new address.

If you have sent to the Houston address it is ok. I will be back in Houston on Saturday the 13th. :)marie
