Description:

I have three beautiful daughters who love crafts/swapping. They love to see mom's envelopes and boxes of goodies and want to be involved.

I know there must be many more moms like myself out there, so....

Let's do a swap for our daughters (daughters only, if someone wants to do a sons swap, feel free). And they did - check out Super Sons at http://www.swap-bot.com/swap/show/3436

Specifics: Fill a box (at least shoe box size - what about 5"x4"x7"- or larger or equivalent amount of items in other packaging - see comments below for discussion) with goodies that a daughter might like. Check your partner's profile to see the age of her daughter(s).

No specific requests (unless there is an allergy involved), let your daughter(s) be suprised.

Because most of our daughters are under 18 (I would include college students as part of the swap population), please do not include their names - simply mail the package to the mom.

Because children are involved, I'm going to be tough on the guidelines - nobody with a rating under 4.8 will be admitted, no no-sends, no newbies. Sorry, but I'd hate to see a child disappointed. It will be an international swap.

There will be one swap partner for this and let's stick to the standard $10-$15 US (before postage). And, as always, please send only nice items that you would like.

P.S. Consider this...the girls will be receiving their packages near the beginning of summer vacation (well at least here in the US)

My daughter is 11 going on 12. Please list the age of your daughter so it makes shopping more age appropriate. Thanks. di brittain.

I have just set up a swap for our sons which will run along side this one, so we can now have happy daughters and sons. http://www.swap-bot.com/swap/show/3436 I will link to here on the sons one.

My daughters are 12, 13, & 15 (almost 16) - they will share the box.

JaneR 04/25/2007 #

Great idea, one of my girls was just asking why there isn't a Kids Swap-Bot. LOL Anyway, my girls are 12 and 8 and will share the box.

Hi!

My daughters are 17 (she really wants to get into swapping and pouted when she found out she has to wait until she's 18) and 2. They'll share a box. I think it will be easy to tell what is for who!

yowell 04/27/2007 #

hi does it have to be a box...could be costly if sending from abroad..

user6740 04/27/2007 #

I would also like to ask the same question as Yowell :] If it has to be a box, I may not be able to afford it :-/

Also - I don't have a daughter, but I have a little sister (14) and I'm sure she'd really love something like this! If she can have a go, I'm sure she'll be ecstatic!

squintgrad 04/29/2007 #

hmmm - struggled a bit with the box question. I want to make sure that swap are pretty even, but want people to join in. I would say that if you spend the minimum $10-$15 US dollars, and send what would fill a 5x4x7 box that usually an extra large envelope instead would be fine.

As for the little sister, great idea. Maybe another swap could be for anyone under 18 (regardless or relation to adult swapper).

user6740 04/29/2007 #

Brilliant! Thank you =D I'll make sure to send stuff in the biggest padded envelope I can fine! Heh.

Thank you so much - She'll be very pleased ^_^. That is a good idea! Maybe a future swap, aye? ;)

My daughter will be 12 in July. she is looking forward to receiving this swap! She will help me complete the package for our outgoing swap.

Brittercat 04/30/2007 #

Hi! My daughter is 15.She has been really wanting to join a swap. I am going to have her help decide what to send.

squintgrad 05/ 1/2007 #

I'm glad to see that the girls are looking forward to this - I will do EVERYTHING that I can to weed out any flakers.

maltagirl 05/11/2007 #

hi all

my daughter is 8 1/2. what a great idea!!!!

thanks so much

blueyedgirl 05/13/2007 #

Can I make an odd request? If I join, will someone send to my mom? I am her youngest daughter, and I am trying to get her on swap-bot. I know she'd love it, and I'll be abroad all summer, so it might be fun for her to get a fun little package when I am away.

I want it to be a surprise for her. She's super crafty, loves sewing, scrapbooking, and birdhouses. Would it be okay for me to sign up?

blueyedgirl 05/13/2007 #

ps- I promise to send an amazing package to any daughters; I am closer to their age and will guarantee a good one. :)

MamiStyle 05/13/2007 #

My daughter is 3 and a half, although she acts like she's far older! This is great--she always gets so sad at the mailbox when there's not something for her in there. Thanks!

mama2llama 05/13/2007 #

This will be great for my 13 year old. She is not crafty and gets sad when she sees her sister doing crafty things with me. So this will be nice to include her in a swap. Plus we are always looking for an excuse to go shopping together.

squintgrad 05/15/2007 #

I am going to allow Blue Eyed Girl to participate - I did state that I would include college students, and I hope that whoever gets her can show her mom what swap-bot is all about.

scrapnstamper 05/16/2007 #

I saw this swap when I was first starting out... I didn't have any ratings... now I do! WOOHOO My Daughter will be 5 in July! She loves swapping. I often share with her what I get! :)

squintgrad 05/18/2007 #

Just a clarification on Blue Eyed Girl - the swap package should be items for her (18 year old college student) not specifically for her mom - we just want her mom to see how great swapbot is!

catnkansas 05/18/2007 #

My daughter is 16 and I would love to join this one but not sure if allowed and I can't be able to send out of usa right now so does this mean no swap for me?

blueyedgirl 05/20/2007 #

Oh- I meant the stuff could be for my mom.... like I said, I'll be out of the country, so I won't get it. But if someone with a young daughter gets me, anything handmade she'll love. She puts all of our neighbor's kids' stuff up on the fridge cuz we don't have any grandkids yet and she wants them. I really meant for this to be something fun for her, not me. :S Sorry to cause so much confusion, it was supposed to be a nice gesture...

TriviumLady 05/21/2007 #

My daughters are 9 and 11, and are pretty girly. They are definitely very crafty! They are pianists, they sew, one is an artist, one loves red (the accomplished pianist and sewer), one loves pink (the artist); maybe that helps!

TriviumLady 05/25/2007 #

Gayle Schoen,

The package to your girls went out today (via media mail, so it will take a week). We can't wait 'til you receive it!

user3457 06/ 3/2007 #

Blue Eyed Girl, all I can say is wow. What care you put into this package. The dress up skirts are the best. We loved your letter, too. You deserve a hundred hearts! ♥
