Core of my soul

Well, this swap-bot thing is right up my ally! I am a very crafty person...so when i stumbled upon this website I was pretty excited! Anyway, I am very unconventional and quite eccentric, and while I have toned down quite a bit with age...I have always lived a bit of a feral lifestyle. I live for spontonaity! (my spelling leaves a lot to be desired..so don't waste your time searching for gramatical errors!) I also have a very dark since of humor! Not only do I enjoy bad jokes and shitty puns, but I get a kick out of things that are morbid or adult in nature! Can't shock me haha! Rock and Roll Till I Die!

GCHC!!!

I play guitar in a 3/4 female hardcore punk band: Blast Rag. While the root of it is 80's hardcore punk...we've spiced it up with a little NWOBHM and classic rock. This obsession I've had with underground 80's hardcore, thrash metal etc since my early teens has had a major influence on my aesthetic. I also love motown, surf, and lots of other stuff! A few of my favs: Raw Power (the 80's Italian punk band), Poison Idea, Crucifucks, DeathSide, Gism, Tank, the Pandoras, Killed by Death stuff, Ike and Tina, Nancy Sinatra, the Fartz, Edwin Starr...the list could go on forever! Not only am I a huge record collector, but I love making/receiving mixed tapes! Why not cd's you ask? It definitely has to do with the fact that all of the old punk/thrash I listen to was put out on vinyl. Hardcore is one of the only genres left that is mainly distributed in the form of records. If you are getting some ultra rare shit...it's most likely coming from a record. (the easiest way to record an album for someone is to make them a tape)

What turns me on

I will start off by saying that I loooove color!!! I use color as a mood enhancer, and nothing inspires my creativity more than a technicolor room! Conventional "classy" decor really turns me off (equally so: gross "suzy homemaker" crap and sterile white walled apartments with no personality accented with walmart art . not everyone can paint their place, but you can make any home cool if you try) and almost everything I own is either 2nd hand or was purchased at a thrift store. With that being said, it is no surprise that I am drawn to vintage/handmade designs. My favorite eras are 50's-80's....mostly items that are unusual/bizarre/ridiculous/creepy haha, you know-conversation pieces! I like my house to be a museum of oddities where every nook and cranny is stocked with something interesting for my guests to look at (or laugh their asses off about!). While I focused on the thrift store thing, that doesn't mean that I don't like anything made today. There are plenty of neato things I have found in stores recently like stationary, stickers, fabric etc that are just as cool! If someone wanted a description of the designs I am referring to, think of this: psychedelic 60's 70's things (not cheesy with "love and peace signs all over it) that look acid induced with crazy colors and maybe some paisley...you know the difference, also things from that 70's period with the toilet bowl green/orange theme, rad 80's surf or thrash metal design..neon colors, sunglasses, skulls (not that posery hot topic skull crap you see everywhere), new things with bright colors or cool designs, I also collect things with birds on them probably because I've had a cockatiel named Herman for 8 years...I know I sound picky, but it's just hard to explain what I am talking about! I wont burn you at the stake if I get something else in the mail...I will probably think it's cool!

Fringe and DingleBalls

I love sewing, scrapping, decopage, painting, drawing, making flyers/zines, silkscreening, filming, making mixed tapes, plus more I prolly can't think of. I'm sure I'm not the only one who gets a rush (even as an adult) when I find cute little stickers/ink pens/erasers/paper clips....Just looking at stationary or art supplies gets me excited. I'm way into trading and I soooo appreciate when people make me stuff! Make me whatever! If someone spends time making me something, I always like it!

Choose your own adventure

While I have come to respect the swamps of south Louisiana as I have gotten older, the happiest moments of my life always seem to be when I am traveling. Luckily playing music has given me the opportunity to view pretty much the entire United States through a car window. I feel like I miss out on a lot when I take a plane because I want to see everything! Don't get me wrong though...checking shit out on foot is the best part by far and one of my favorite things to do is collecting flea market treasures as souvineers. Since I can't afford to go everywhere I want to, I get just as excited when people mail me things from far away places! I am not even close to satisfied. The United States is nothing compared to the rest of the world! I want to see as much of the planet as I can before I kick the bucket!!!
