You will read the book and write a letter to your partner about it. What did you like? What would you change? Was there a character that you related to? One that annoyed you? Feel free to compare it the movie if there is one based on the book. You can also start reading the book as soon as you sign up for the swap.

September's Pick: The Ledgend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving

Particpants must have a rating of 4.5 or higher with no recent 1s. Unrated swapers welcome with a well filled out profile.

This sounds very interesting but is it for a whole year? I'm not sure I want to or can commit to 12 months. How about just 3 months? 6 months? Oh wait....you just sign up by the month, right? ha ha I think I get it now. Hmmmmm.

LOL! I am doing a play version of this at work with my middle-schoolers. I have auditions Monday.

LOL yeah @tintenn I think you just sign up to do it each month if you want hehe, there will be a new swap for each month

There are new swaps each month. You can sign up for all of them if you wish or just a few. You are not required to sign up every month. Basically I just pick a different book each month. If it is a book you enjoy or that you want to read, sign up.

Hello, this may sound dumb, but I whtdrew the book from the library and It is part of a compendiumn of 'short' stories by Washington Irving? I just want to check as I don't want to accidentally read an abbreviated version of the story!

knitandlitgirl 09/16/2011 #

It is a short story - maybe around 30-40 pgs. I don't remember right off hand how long it is and don't have my copy handy. It is a short read. If you want to you can read some of the other stories if you get a book with other works by Irving, but are not required to for the swap.

Nor sure if anyone else has mentioned this.... But I'm a member of paperbackswap.com and I got my copy of a collection of stories on there. Love that website! I'll be reading it this weekend, and then watching the dvd (got that from the library!) next weekend.
