Hi! I'm Teresa. I live in Nashville and work as a legal assistant. (yawn!) From 2007-2009 I lived in Beijing, China, teaching English to Chinese kids and teenagers (Haidian District). I LOVE China and Beijing feels like my second hometown. I visited about 14 cities while living in China and being in Beijing during the 2008 Olympics was especially cool. Other than those 2 years in Beijing and 4 years in Atlanta, Georgia, I have always lived in Tennessee. I'm fairly well-traveled, love culture, history, traveling, reading, writing, hiking, camping, having int'l friends, and oh so many things. I love writing with fountain pens, cool pens of all different colors, doodling, owning really cool stationary and papers, well, just all kinds of papers. My favorite colors are all the blues and greens like you'd see in the sea. I also like turquoise blue with a random splash of red on it. I love getting snail mail and I love writing to my friends. I enjoy getting creative with paper and making special cards for folks. They always appreciate it but usually tell me that in an EMAIL! ha I'm turning to the internet now to find a way to receive more snail mail. Folks say I've never met a stranger....so this is going to be a lot of fun for me.
I enjoy all types of music. I used to say that the only kind of music I could not muster up appreciation for was heavy metal and opera. Lately, I've been developing an appreciation for opera. The verdict is still out on metal. :) I especially enjoy reggae and world music. For instance, I'm a huge fan of Chinese bamboo flute tunes. I also enjoy middle eastern/Arabic music very much! Calypso/steel drum, pop, bluegrass, country, classical, you name it....I enjoy it!
Gosh. I read a lot and enjoy alternating between fiction and non-fiction. I could never begin to name favorite books because just as soon as I named one, I'd not want another to be left out, and on and on and on. :) I'm not a fan of romance novels but I do love a good story. For instance, I'm currently in the middle of the trilogy by Stieg Larsson (The Girl Who Played With Fire). Prior to that I read China Road by Rob Gifford (non-fiction).
I love cute writing paper, cards, pads, etc.
I love all those pretty tapes that are out now but I don't own any yet.
I love stamps from other countries (and U.S. stamps too)
I love pens and markers- all colors
I love handmade things - ATCs, paper flowers, knitted things...anything handmade is always welcomed.
I have a sweet tooth (I have NO dislikes of ANYTHING sweet! ha)
I like stickers and rubber stamps (of anything, really)
I like to scrapbook so I love all things related to it.
I love little bits of ribbon and lace, beads, etc.
I like to make my own little books and use beads on my pamphlets and accordian books and such.
I love notebooks and journals and feel I can never have enough. I also enjoy art journaling so ephemera and stuff like that would be great. I love watercolors, acrylics, markers, papers all the things one uses to art journal.
I love small things from other countries....(like cute phone charms from China, cool stationary or envelopes from Korea, etc.)
I love licorice and I love the flavor of spearmint but perhaps my all-time favorite flavor is chocolate mint!
I love things that are indigenous to a particular state, country, city (ex., GooGoo bars are made right here in Nashville)
Actually, I like any kind of postcard except ad/free ones. In addition to scenes of where you live (multi-views are okay too) or art from where you live, I like unusual or quirky cards, cards with writing on it in the language of your country, funny cartoon cards, moomins (I just received my first one!), etc. Basically, you can send any kind of card and I am sure I will like it.
