Description:

I believe it’s been a while since someone hosted an ATC blanks swap. So to help the ATC addicts add to their collection you will send 2 partners 7 ATC blanks each, 1 crafting goodie that your partner will like. It can be brads, buttons, ribbon, stickers etc. Please include a note of one of you favorite techniques for ATC making be it stamping, painting, etc.

So 2 partners, 14 ATC blanks total and a crafting goodie. This is an international swap since the shipping cost is relatively inexpensive.

I will open this to newbies and ALL rating levels as long as you do not have any No-Sends in the past 3 months, I will check!

The ATC blanks

Must measure 2.5” x 3.5”

Should have a sturdy backing. If the paper you use is flimsy please add a backing. I like to re purpose and use cereal boxes or even junk mail as a backing. Be creative!

Should be something that you would want to use, no junk please.

The blanks can be mixed media, whatever materials you think your partner will like to work with. I do not want to limit anyone's creativity but some example of blanks are: pretty papers, images from magazines, painted patterns like stripes and such, textured paper or such.

This sounds like a good idea. I am new to ATC so will be great to add to my collection and share mine with others.

I am in! The last swap I was in was a 6 pc embellishment swap. It was awesome! Thanks for hosting.

I'm not sure what the difference is between a blank and a sturdy backing. Could a blank be think paper cut to size?

I have not been making ATCs long, but I've been using note-pad backing (very sturdy), cardboard from cereal boxes, etc. I then tape the paper or work with the cardboard, especially when it has some sheen and stamp directly on it.

So, I guess we would be making basically the "background"? I get this cardboard that comes with the prescription labels in the pharmacy I work at, and cut that into ATC size. So I would take this cardboard and attach paper to it, paint it, or otherwise make a background for my partner to use as an ATC blank? Is that correct?

Thanks

Hi - I just recently discoved that if you go to the Dollar Store and buy there large bristo boards. Cut it up and you get 48-50 pieces. Good quality for thickness. Linda :)

Franstuff, you are correct, for the blanks they can be mixed media. It can be as simple as pretty paper of a painted background. I recently started working with watercolors. I paint a 8.5" x 11" sheet of paper then cut up into 2.5" x 3.5"

Some of the materials I like to use as blanks are magazine photos. For example I tore out this great photo of a skyscraper. When I cut it up into 2.5" x 3.5" pieces you just had a cool looking image but you really couldn't tell it was a building. Since it was from a magazine I used thicker cardboard on the back to make it sturdy.

Do not limit yourself. Sandpaper would make a great textured background!

I love all of your ideas for ATC blanks!

But please , please make sure they are 2 1/2 by 3 1/2 inches! I was in a swap for backings and every one was off. I have to use ribbon or other items to streach them. This does sound like a funn swap!
