First putting this on my watch list to make sure that I have enough washi tape to put in the pockets - and if I don't have - then I have a reason to go SHOPPING!!!!!!!!!!!

Love it! It will be fun!

love this idea! can't wait..

I definitely recommend wrapping the tape around something plastic, or covering baseball/playing cards with packing tape! Even when cards are "plastic-coated", the edges aren't and tape can get ruined. It's so so sad.

Are plastic embroidery thread bobbins an acceptable thing to use for tape wrapping? Thats what I usually use for washi samples.

LunaMoody 12/ 3/2015 #

Where did you get the tape that you have pictured? I like the cards it's on.

MelinaBea 12/ 4/2015 #

Love the idea, but I don't have that many different washis! :'(

Mimiadpi 12/ 4/2015 #

Saramaree that's fine, just place them in the pocket letter pockets.

Mimiadpi 12/ 4/2015 #

Do you guys have dollar tree near you? Lots of great washi tape $1

Mimiadpi 12/ 4/2015 #

I borrowed the pic from Pinterest

Hello. Should the pockets to be decorated on the front side? :-)

thebragal 12/ 6/2015 #

Even if you don't have anything plastic coated as a base to attach your tapes to, you can always just allow extra tape to make up for the length that may or may not come off the base. I like to use clear plastic that comes with most packaging these days. When you buy anything from embellishments to hardware, there is often a clear plastic bubble you can use. I cut them up and round the corners.

I have the same question as @JustMeCreating :)

Mimiadpi 12/ 7/2015 #

I figured that the washi tape pockets will just be both sides. So just 9 pockets to fill.

shellyc 12/ 7/2015 #

Hi! I'd like to confirm again that the whole pocket letter doesn't need any form of decoration or patterned paper in the pockets?

So after we have taken the 27 samples (at least) out of the pockets, it's just an empty sleeve left, right? :)

purpleriho 12/ 8/2015 #

As much as I love dollar store washi, I would ask to please not get bombarded with it as I probably already have it.

Mimiadpi 12/ 8/2015 #

Yup. It's just a washi tape pocket letter. No decorations unless the sender wishes.

Mimiadpi 12/ 8/2015 #

There is inexpensive washi tape at 5 below and tjmaxx and marshals. AC Moore and micheals has good deals too.

I order lots of Washi tape off etsy for less than 4.00 a roll, and it's high quality beautiful Washi! I've also found some recently at Tuesday Morning (2.99 for two rolls of 7 gypsys) and last week the Stampin' Up website had some on their clearance sale...I got 17 rolls for 19.00!

We are not supposed to send the "deco" type washi, right? It's supposed to be REAL washi tape, correct?
