Description:

Hello All,

Junemoon did not want to continue the Ongoing Black and White Quilt Block swap as she has finished her project. So I asked her permission to carry it on as I had only just started mine, BUT I am adding a TWIST to get more people interested!

You will make a 12-1/2 inch square block using black and white fabrics. The design and method of making the block is maker's choice -- a traditional block (many ideas online and in magazines), a block of your own design, a paper pieced block -- just so you use black and white, applique if you like. Here is the TWIST - If your partner would like a TWIST of color - They will comment below what color they would like added in. I would suggest adding a tonal small print fabric for that pop of color. We have all seen those gorgeous black and white quilts with that splash of color. I have found some nice examples on this website http://sodypopsart.wordpress.com/2009/04/02/black-and-white-quilt/

I will check the comments regularly for questions and answer them the best I can.

I plan to do this as a monthly swap - If we get regulars that would like to push the time up a bit and do more than one a month or increase partners I'd be willing to do that too. If I am unable to carry this on I would love for someone else to take the reins in the future!

Hey, I'm looking for either green OR purple. Send your choice!

I'm still happy with just the Black & White:)

Howdy! I would love bright blues or bright greens. Or black and white is great, too! =)

Can anyone tell me the best way to mail a block? Is it fine to fold it? 12" is bigger than the blocks I typically make. Also, I'd love a little pop of bright yellow. :) Thanks!

@Jenna83 - to fit in a standard envelope flod the block into 3rd's then just long enough to fit in the envelope. Ironing it helps so that it lays flatter!

Thanks so much!!!

Did anyone miss this one? I'd love to do a one-on-one swap to catch up.
