Description:

This is really easy.

Take the book you are current reading, turn to page 48 and send a copy of it to your partners (photocopy or handwritten is fine, but if handwriting, make sure it is legible!).

Write on the page somewhere the title and author of the book.

You never know, after reading just one page, you may want to get a copy of the whole book. I have made this UK only, as there may be problems getting hold of books from other countries.

too bad this isn't international because i'm so interested in this swap

This is an awesome idea. I am from Canada though, so perhaps I could borrow your idea and coordinate a swap for Canada/US?

missashley 03/ 3/2012 #

I would most def join! i am a Canadian living overseas!

Hope you'll make an international one someday because I would love to join.

for most books, if it is on sale in UK then it will be available in USA / Canada, it's only if its the other way around it will be hard to find the book discussed afterwards as release dates are later in UK than in USA (I know this as I've been waiting ages for 'Anna dressed in blood' to come out over here!) if not it's attack ebay time!

also, your description is a bit off.... at the top it says type 2 (send in post) first part of description says hand written or a photocopy, bottom says its an electronic swap (Type 1) which would mean typed up copy of page, or a scanned in (on a scanner) copy of page. bit confusing as to which it is.

tizzicat 03/ 5/2012 #

@ Kittenred - thanks for pointing that out! I have now changed it. It was going to be electronic, then I thought about the problems with different languages, etc and made it snail mail!

@nosboh99 - please feel free to borrow idea!

kittenred 03/ 6/2012 #

ok! type 2 it is then! thanks!

hello Tizzicat. can a lad from Ireland join in?

A123987 03/19/2012 #

I have a UK address for this swap - please ask for it when the swap starts.

I love this idea and would join but live inHawaii, US! Will watch for international version. Really a great idea. Just love it!!!! Aloha!

kittenred 03/21/2012 #

I'm happy to run an international version if the host doesn't want to in a couple of weeks time. airmail can get costly if it's bulky!

kittenred 03/21/2012 #

@ A123987 ...your partner should not need to ask for the address, if it is a legitimate address it should already be in the swap-bot system. tsk tsk!

A123987 03/22/2012 #

@Kittenred of course it's a real address, I live here in the UK :-), I choose to use a US address for many reasons, including on this site, which I've done before.

But to safe any fights I will wait for the International Version.

sorry, but your profile says you live in america, you have United states listed as your residence.
