I'm an empty nester, I have 2 adult, typical Kids, one is marred. We had 4 wonderful handicapped boys, who are now with the Lord. Yes, I am a born again, Spirit fill believer, (I will respect your profile and not send anything religious if you have not indicated an interest.)

Now that things have settled down, I am just getting started in my art career. After throwing my art down my sr. year of high school and only taking 2 art classes,in college, I've picked up painting and drawing again some 30 years later.

I started out with silk painting and drawing. Practicing and teaching myself how to draw again. I have now started painting on canvases and love it. I also have enjoyed making art journals from unwanted books or making my own books.

The 30 years I didn't do art, the creativity within me came out in crafts. Almost anything that caught my interest; sewing, cross stitch, knitting, embroidery, paper crafts and crafts with my children as they grew.

Artist Trading Cards intrigue me and I have enjoyed making my own but have found it hard to find people to swap with. I am enjoying creating a collection of cards from so many creative people from around the world. :D

My favorite color is Yellow, hence the name yellowglory, and my favorite color combination is purple and blue. I also like bright colors that remind me of a fiesta or a celebration.

I love nature, thanks to my Grandpa taking me on hikes with my cousins when we were small. He also taught us how to skate on a local pond, so as my life changed, I took up skating again and love anything to do with figure skating ;)

I love all 4 seasons here in Minnesota, the colors and variety keep my interest all year long. There always seems to be some thing new to look forward to. I enjoy to look for natural lines and texture.

I really like vintage, lace and fabrics, old pictures and old advertising, graphic arts, Coke-a-cola is my favorite. (Pop and advertising).

I especially like when creativity is added to some thing to make it unusual or beautiful.

I appreciate styles and art from different cultures and other countries.

Walt Disney and Jim Henson have been my heros because they got to do what they loved for a living. Also that is what I grew up with.

And my husband and son got me to like: Ironman, Man of Steal, Star Treck into Darkness

My son also introduced me to Doctor Who (which I heard of growing up and in collage, but never watched). And now I'm in love with the Doctor!

So looking at this list of girly girl stuff and nurdy things is it possible to be both? Maybe that's where steam punk comes in :)
