I retired from a very busy working life 4 years ago and am now enjoying my retirement.
But if i thought it was going to have a lazy time in retirement and put my feet up,oh boy was i wrong!!
I love to sew and sell my creations at a local craft market and on Folksy,
I am having fun trying out many different crafts. and now enjoy my new hobby of Swap- botting.
I was recently asked by someone about to retire what do I do all day now I am retired and do I get bored, how do I fill my days,
I told her I don't have time to be bored, and would like a few more hours in the day in which to fit my many hobbies and interests, retirement is wonderful!!! wish i had been able to afford to do it earlier.
I have a lovely Tabby Tortie cat of 10 yrs old called Sukie. (hence my name)
I believe very much in the idea of 'Treat others as you would want to be treated' some think it is a bit naive of me but i rarely think bad of a person, but I feel sorry for them if they feel they can treat others badly or cheat them.
I try to recycle postal packaging as much as possible to save money and the environment , i always ensure it is clean and tidy, removing previous address labels and adding my own, so please don't be offended if the packaging you receive has been already pre used,
most music it depends on my mood, but i have a fondness for the 40s and 50s, big band sound, glenn miller etc, light opera, frank sinatra, and nice moody music, nights in white satin style of music.
i love all the James Bond movies, and all action hero types, anything with steven segal, jean claude van dam, john wayne old movies, mysteries, Definitely not Horror stories. some love stories (as long as they are not wishy washy sugar sweet ) Costume drama, I love english soaps, House, cooking programmes, DIY progs, talent shows American and UK, Glee, (did i really admit to that )
I love a good swashbuckling adventure story or an espionage thriller, love Dan Browns style of writing, Clive Cussler and Mathew Reilly. and many others , depends on the mood,
also any Catherine Cookson , e.v. thompson, and many more authors, really any rags to riches or adventure story i just like to read.
Sewing, i love to create items from pieces of fabric, before i retired i never had time to stop and think, but now i look at a piece of fabric and decide what this flat item will transform into, it doesn't always end up as pleasing as i would like it to be but it is always unique, my family do have some unusual gifts nowadays!
My beloved other half has just bought me as a surprise an embroidery machine, now i have to learn how to use it , Ha ha.
i am having fun with my new machine, housework ? what is that ? LOL,
I do enjoy making bags and purses for sale on my craft stall in my town once a month , i also sell them on my Folksy internet shop. i have started to dabble in making jewellery, from buttons taken from old clothes to found object and old strings of beads/pendants and earrings that i pick up at charity shops and car boot sales and re-purpose them into lovely objects,

I Will NOT FLAKE.I always fulfil my swaps.
If it is going to be late being posted out, just send me a message, I will do the same if I am going to be posting late. life happens and we never know what will hold us up at any time.
I will always rate what is sent to me. within 1 or 2 days of receiving it.
As a partner has put thought , work and money into the item they send I feel it is rude and bad mannered not to give them due rating for their work. I know how disappointed I have been when something I have worked on and sent doesn't get any response even after sending several messages to the sender to enquire if the item has been received. I love giving ♥ and 5s and stars to our Swap Coordinators and endeavour to do so as often as possible.
Mail may take longer to get to you if its falls into the international category. but not normally more than 2 weeks, message me if you don't receive my package within a reasonable time, I always send 1st class or Airmail and get proof of posting ( so please let me know if you haven't got my mail/parcel before rating me down, I am nice, I don't bite!
Happy Swapping, have fun

Thanks for being a member of the Crafting Queens~
i Am hosting a handmade bracelet swap I think you would be interested in.
This is what I love about those predecimal coins. I put the farthing in my daughter's hand and told her, "This coin was in use in 1938. It passed from one person's hand to another. People did not have credit cards or ATM cards, so they always needed to use real money to buy things. This coin may have been spent by a little girl your age. Maybe her grandmother gave it to her as a birthday coin. Maybe she used it to pay for some candy or bread, or a little toy. And now, if she is still alive, she is older than your grandmother!" Then we brainstormed other people who might have held the coin in their hand and what they might have bought with it. Except for traveling to an historical location, there is nothing to place you back in time like a real object that was used back then.
