I'm in my mid twenties and live in New Orleans with a lazy hound dog and my adorably awkward boyfriend. I love all of the imperfections and eccentricities that come with the city and can't imagine living anywhere else. I'm very interested in social justice and volunteerism, and I work for a non-profit rebuilding homes destroyed by Katrina. I love gardening, cooking and being outdoors.
I love being exposed to new and different music. Growing up I was pretty musical, so I appreciate dissonance and unexpected melodies. I mostly listen to indie and punk, but I've also got a soft spot in my heart for classic rock, New Orleans brass bands, classical, the occasional rap song, and roots music. As long as it's devoid of a techno beat, I am willing to try it.
I've been trying to read more lately and like to have a good mix of fiction and non-fiction. I'm a big fan of Vonnegut and David Sedaris, which I guess means that I have a taste for dark, tongue-in-cheek humor and social commentary. As far as non-fiction goes, I like history and anything related to progressive politics or slow living.
I haven't gone to a movie theater in quite a while, but I am an avid Netflix user. I tend to watch a lot of documentaries and dramas and steer clear of most chick flicks and comedies. I have a weird interest in Japanese horror movies, and I'm pretty obsessed with Hedwig & the Angry Inch and Rocky Horror Picture Show (I used to belong to one of the groups that dress up and act out the movie).
I'm a big fan of most of the HBO and Showtime series, in particular, Dexter, Weeds True Blood, and Six Feet Under. I'm pretty much always willing to watch a cooking reality show (Top Chef, Cake Boss, Ace of Cakes, etc), as well as Man vs Food. Oh, Glee and Biggest Loser are also must watch shows in my house.
I like to make collages, postcards and notebooks. I love going to thrift store to find items to re-purpose I've been attempting to learn how to knit for a while with little to show for it so far. I also do some graphic / website design. I'm also really into baking and brewing my own beer.

Hello! I am your partner for read my profile and leave comment swap. I too am a crazy Netflix user! It's so addicting! It's much easier to watch a TV show on DVD by season... waiting a week in between to find out what happens drives me crazy! ;) I am jealous you live in New Orleans -- what is your favorite thing to do? I would love to visit there one day.
Hi, Greetings from Germany. It was nice to read your profile.
We share similar interests with collage making, postcards and notebooks. I enjoy making books...its a great feeling to see the end product isn't it? I too have been attempting to learn to knit with no success though :(
Thrift store shopping and finds must be good fun. Am dying to find one here in Germany and go pick some fancy stuff...no luck as yet.
I see you swapping a lot of postcards here, wish you loads of fun. Cheers! Chinnu (read my profile and write a comment)

Hi Sarah! I hope you're doing well! I also am in my mid-20's. I wish I had a dog and my fiancee is as adorably awkward as they come (they should meet...ehh...on second thought it would prbly just be us talking and the guys would be like...what is going on lol). If you like new music choices, check out the Gleasons. They are a Celtic band out of Milwaukee, I've been to a few of their shows, and I really like the music :). Enjoy your day!
