Something about me...well i'm married, in my late thirties with no children. I am blessed with my kittens Mabel and Monkey, plus two fabulous nephews and one wonderful niece all spoiled to death!
My favorite colors are: pink, any shade! sunset oranges and reds, bright to turquoise blue, no dark navy, soft spring green and purples of all shades. Add some small accent of gold, silver or bronze and you can't go wrong.
I'm still loving the trend of birds and flourishes and use them quite frequently, especially the flourishes.
I love to use vintage images in my artwork. I'm inspired by artists, Tim Holtz, Jenni Bowlin, Ali Edwards, Michael Demeng, Michelle Ward (so love her blog!)...and many more!
I love Sanrio characters, Chococat, Tokodoki, Kuromi and the darker versions of Hello Kitty. Love her in the devil costumes!
I'm enchanted by mixed media/altered art anything! Sewing, paper arts, rubberstamping, small altered photo albums, altered boxes, tins, containers of all types. I love collage and do alot of collage on my ATC's.
I collect rubberstamps and find I always buy the artsy types using them on all my projects in small or large quantities.
I crochet and knit. Tried my hand at tatting. I cross stitch and do some embroidery. I love embroidery! It looks so complicated but if you have a good book with great directions it's not so hard.
I listen to all kinds of music and find it influences my projects whether I realize it or not.
I enjoy some classical but have to be in the mood. Love soft, sultry r&b by any artist. I am an eighties girl at heart, having been in high school during that wonderful decade! So I can be a head banging, hair band loving, rubber bracelet wearing rocker chick!
I love looking at all the different magazines out there revolving around mixed media crafting such as Cloth, Paper and Scissors and Somerset Studio-all their publications are wonderful! I buy alot of knitting/crochet books at thrift stores, garage sales and vintage stores. I love the thirties thru fifties style knitting pamphlets for kids to adults.
If you have old hard back books like childrens primers or how to take care of kids, I'm interested in your art and/or the books. And if they are beat up and bruised, this lady would gladly give them a home. :) I'd also love good quality scans or copies of pages with cute graphics like birds or fairies from the early 1900's to 1970's.
I love artsy types of rubber stamps like stamps made by Stampers Anonymous, Stamp Francisco, PaperArtsy, Green Pepper Press, Purple Onion Designs, Art Declasified, Impression Obsession, Cherry Pie, Paperbag Stamps, Crafty Individuals...and on and on!. New or used is fine. And if you use them in new and unexpected ways, I'd love to share artwork with you.
I'd like to find someone to trade small pots of embossing enamels for the same or glitter. So I can expand my small assortment.
My favorite pens are the souffle white and black gel pens and the stardust ones. I use them on alot of art. It's fun to find new ways to use the pens especially because they add dimension. I just discovered the Atyou Spica twinkling pens and would love to find them as a surprise!
Please, please, please contact me! I take it seriously to get my swaps to the people I'm assigned and if I ever mail out anything late, I promise to send an email. I will not hesitate to work things out with anyone.
Life has a way of bumping into our plans and if life gets in the way of your crafting, I understand. But I need to know this so lets stay in touch.
The longer I'm on Swap Bot the more I realize a complete profile is a big help to my partners. I neglected to add a do/don't want list, so here goes.
I don't need paper scraps or shapes.
I don't need candy.
I don't need new buttons. I do want Vintage buttons. Especially oddly shaped buttons, glass buttons, or bone/shell buttons. I'd love buttons on their original packaging. Ones from the early 1900's to the 1970's would rock!
I don't need new lace or ribbon.
I do want vintage ribbon or lace. Especially ribbon and lace in original packaging I do want vintage seam ribbon.
I don't need stickers. I don't use them except on rare ocassions when I spot something wonderful. If you have something by K and Company or some one of those companies, I'd be happy to receive them.
I do want printed material with pictures, old or new, from foreign countries. Japanese fashion ads are so inspiring! I'd love to see what your country is doing with their art scene, rock scene, anything not run of the mill! If you have vintage printed material and don't want to part with it, I'd be just as thrilled to receive a good quality scan or photo copy.
I do want old and vintage photos from the early 1900's to the 1950's. Good quality copies are also welcomed.
