I'm a twenty-year-old Australian girl who just got her Cert III in Japanese. I'm currently studying my Cert IV in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and I'll be studying my Cert IV in Japanese next year. After that I will be getting a degree in teaching (most likely Japanese LOTE).
I have red hair (dark blonde naturally) and green eyed. I wear glasses and have my lip and ears pierced - I used to have my eyebrow pierced, too. Funnily enough, I got my ears pierced after my lip and eyebrow.
I'm currently planning to move to Shizuoka (in Japan) within the next 5-10 years, but I have to finish my studies first.
I like cute and girly things but also quirky things.
I also like black cat motifs and snake motifs.
My favourite colours are pink, silver and yellow. I mostly wear red, though. I also only wear silver jewellery (silver or silver-coloured)
I mostly wear dresses with boots, or sandals - depending on the weather - and cardigans are a staple in my closet.
I like Tohoshinki, Hirai Ken, Brown Eyed Girls, Shiina Ringo, Tokyo Jihen, MONKEY MAJIK and GO!GO!7188.
I listen to a whole bunch more, but those are the artists/bands/groups I'm really into at the moment.
I also listen to 'retro' Japanese and Western music, including The Beatles, David Bowie, Yamaguchi Momoe and Kondo Masahiko.
I like music with a good beat, but also beautiful vocals and sound.
I really like Lost and Glee at the moment.
Other favourite shows include Doctor Who, Torchwood, The IT Crowd, Desperate Housewives, Celeb to Binbo Taro, Sailor Moon and The Chaser's War on Everything.
My favourite films include Fight Club, Singin' in the Rain, The Wizard of Oz, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Sakuran, Detroit Metal City and Easter Parade.
I'm a big fan of Judy Garland, Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire so, of course, I love musicals. Other than musicals I like horror films - especially when I just want to switch off, but I love films with twists or strange plots - just like Fight Club (and Lost - the TV show)
I am a big fan of Chuck Palahniuk, but I've only finished two of his books so far - Fight Club and Haunted - but I have others of his sitting on my bookshelf waiting to be read...
I'm also in the middle of reading H.P. Lovecraft's The Call of Cluthlu and Other Weird Stories (compiled by Penguin Modern Classics) and I'm really enjoying his style of writing.
I also enjoy Stephen King and, of course, J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series.
