I love cats and I love spinning fibre. Funnily enough the dutch word for catpurring is the same as for spinning so there, I'm just following the hints the universe is giving me ;)
I feel especially close to the European pre-celtic fairytale figure Frau Holle. She's all about spinning and nature and working together to get results. Without being a sentimental sap.
Both cats and spinning are relaxing and hilariously funny at times. They help me healing from ME/CFS. I also like weird teacups (the wonky handmade kind) and little metal spoons.
I adore colour, especially bold ones. I like natural materials such as wool, silk, wood, mother of pearl etc.
spinning, knitting, felting, wool dyeing, sewing, embroidery, drawing.
I like natural, renewable materials such as wool, wood, glass, seashell, bamboo, paper, silk. I am a fool for tiny handmade pincushions and tiny shiny handmade x-mas-tree ornaments. Actually anything tiny and shiny! Handmades are a way of spreading love in the world, I feel.
I really do my best to make you something special. Hope it shows :)
I am 40 yo, married, live on a little homestead in the woods, eat a ketogenic diet and am healing from ME/CFS/Adrenal Fatigue/hormonal imbalance. I have a mastersdegree in science and was trained as an artist and for the life of me, I cannot choose what pleases me more: the delight of experiencing beauty or the accomplishment of understanding a principle. Spinning and cats meet both sides of this spectrum.
I like handspun artyarns! :) funny batts and funky yarns are very welcome in this little house! :D
my knittingadventures are on ravelry but you can see some pics at http://www.flickr.com/photos/snorrepot/

Welcome to Swap-Bot! Since you are interested in the old days, you might like to read the novels of one of my favorite authors, Sandra Dallas. Alice's Tulips is a good choice.
