I joined several months ago because my mother in law was swapping on this site and I loved seeing her swaps received, but getting married and moving took up a lot of my time. Now I'm getting started swapping at last in May of '09!
I'm a newlywed, a seasoned crocheter, a newbie quilter, and a craftaholic! I love sorting through fabric scraps, yarn, and buttons in my stash waiting for inspiration to strike. I live with my husband in the boonies of Northwest Arkansas. I've got a 7 year old stepson, and a furry son who is a beagle mix puppy. I love cooking simple yet delicious recipes for my family and learning all things about homesteading/rural life.
I prefer bright or soft colors, and I'm not much into skulls and such, but I'm up for anything cause I never know until I try it!
Favorite colors: blues & greens, but really anything cute wins me over!
Favorite food: chocolate (Toblerone is yummy but I love all chocolate!) and gum (fruity or minty flavors)
I'm not a picky person, love getting presents and surprises in the mail. That's why I'm here! Hope to make lots of new friends in the future. :)
Favorite hobby: a tie between crochet and sewing
I love all things vintage and yard sales are my downfall! Have recently started paper piecing a hexagon quilt and am already planning to make another from as many different cotton fabric scraps as I can get ahold of. Hoping to collect bits of vintage fabric to make into a quilt one day.
I've got a yarn stash and most of it's just plain old acrylic that I love. But I love collecting small balls of yarn and putting them together into pretty granny squares and other small projects.
Lately I have gotten into recycled things, like unravelling sweaters, as well as going green by making my own laundry detergent.

Also love magazines like Country Living and Martha Stewart for the ideas I find in them.

I'm not very picky, really anything crafty that I can play with would be nice. I'm not big on jewelry unless it's simple usually, and I don't have pierced ears, so no earrings please. Show me some of your art/craft stuff. :)

Thanks again for such a nice package! I couldn't resist leaving your first comment too. I know, I'm bad. Welcome to swap-bot from a fellow newbie...I'm just major addicted! Kathy
