I need to update my profile....... I was dropped from a swap because it had been longer than 10 days since I had signed on to swap bot. Yes, this is true. I had emergency open heart surgery. I was not able to commit to swaps so I didn't sign on. Once I was better I wanted to resume my hobbies and be thankful my life was saved. I've never flaked on a swap and my ratings are all good, including lots of hearts (I try to always send more to my partner each swap).
I've hosted swaps and understand about flakers. I have been flaked on myself. My suggestion to anyone hosting a swap ... Contact the person you are questioning before just dropping them. There are times when a person will have a reason.
I have met some wonderful people on here and one whom I have become great friends with and do many personal swaps with. And ran across several whom I question their people skills.
Dropping me from this swap was like a slap in my face. The swap was for 3 partners and send 40 something squares to each partner. When I signed up for the "vomit square" swap as it was called I immediately cut my squares and bundled them with little bows ... And waited to hear who my partners were. They sit on my sewing table now since I was dropped.
I'm a 50's something woman, who would have loved to have been June Cleaver. I long for the good ole days of mom staying home, cooking, cleaning, baking cookies and joining the PTA. My kids are grown and on their own. I've recently moved out of the city to a small town. I love living in the country with my husband and our little taco bell dog, Chloe Belle. We recently adopted a yellow lab puppy (he's 100 lbs at 10 minths!). We fell in love with him after seeing him up for adoption at an animal shelter near our home. His name is Jake and he's such a sweetheart! I love vintage things, sewing, crafting, junking, dumpster diving and being creative. There's no better way to relax! I simply adore the color PINK! I'd have every room in my house pink if my husband would let me! I have a pink kitchen with all the pink appliances. I have my own PINK girly bedroom. It's just mine to relax in. However, Chloe loves it too and I find her most days laying on the old iron bed in there napping. Looks like I've trained her well! Here's just a few of my favorite things!
Chihuahua's,
Fairies,
Hello Kitty,
Daiseys,
Pink Roses,
ANYTHING PINK!
Aprons,
Quilting, (fat quarters and Jelly Rolls)
Jewelry (silver and any kind - I love bling!)
Teapots/teacups/tea sets (mini and regular size)
SHOES (I even have an apron that says "Will cook for Shoes"),
Friendship,
My Children,
My Husband,
My Family,
CAMPING!, (I love the outdoors - we have a 5th weel and go camping alot!)
Writing stories and letters,
Magazines about crafting or decorating,
Lotions and sprays and bubble baths!,
Bath and Body Works plugs in for my house (every room has them - they smell heavenly),
MY CRAFT/SEWING ROOM - it's all windows and looks out the back of our house where there's cattle and horses,
Organizing (sad this excites me so much!),
I do NOT like Cats! (But I love Hello Kitty .. don't know why!) I'm scared to death of them!
I love the woods and being outdoors.
I love Texas Stars, bobwire, anything western because ....
.. I love being a Texas girl!
I love to sew. I do alot of quilting, piecing quilts, placemats, mug rugs, anything crafty with sewing. I love making aprons. I am working on an apron either for me or someone else... I'm always sewing on one. I love apron patterns. I'm working on some puppets for my daughter since she's a teacher .. I love those patterns. I love alot of patterns for craft items but I'm ALWAYS looking for more patterns. I love vintage child things that have to do with the kitchen. I have an old Suzie Homemaker Oven that was mine in the early 60's. I want to get some vintage dishes and make a small play area in my craft room. I love decorating my sewing and craft room. It's 16x24 so I have alot of room to play! I have a vintage doll highchair and I'm looking for a vintage childs table and chairs.
I love Sandra Dallas.
I love biographies and autobiographies .. especially of movie stars.
Bridges of Maddison County,
Urban Cowboy (yes, this was my "single" days with lots of friends in this movie. I even lived about 2 miles from where Gilley's once stood)
You've Got Mail (that's how i met my wonderful husband!)
Blind Side
I dislike the smell of vanilla, don't like the taste of peppermint or cinnamon, CATS .. scared to death of them, smokers, liars, and people who act like they are better than everyone else. I don't like vulgar language or racial comments. I don't do scrapbooking and I'm not very adventurous on the computer. I tend to do the basics .. I guess I'm just not a "techy" person. I'm not in to futeristic things, scifi, gory movies.

What a nice surprise to receive a birthday card - no matter how belated and some wonderful goodies from you. I LOVE EVERYTHING!!!! Thank you so much for thinking of me. I am tickled PINK to call you my friend. Love those flowers on a stick - will have to try to make some of those - might make a good project as a fun raiser for my team for the Cancer Relay For Life. By the way, had my hair hi-lighted in HOT PINK this week!

Thanks for the great PINK Package - love all the fabric - had parcel with me while shopping at Fabricland - showed the salesclerk and she wants to join. The Pampered Chef pin is beautiful - just ordered the Pink paring knife at a local fundraiser - will see if the dealers in Canada have these pins. Not sure what to do with the plate, but I have a basement full of stuff waiting for inspiration to hit me. Love the vintage doily and hankie. I like to place vintage items in shadow boxes to display them. Will send another package in June. Can we include something we make from PINK craft materials or fabric?

I looked at your blog and saw the photo of the gathered half-apron you were wearing - CUTE! Do you know the name of the pattern?
Ignore my private message. LOL! Hope we swap again! We can swap some of my computer skills for some of your sewing skills. Merry Christmas!
