I've lived in the Chicago area most of my life and love it here. I was on swap-bot in the middle 00's and had life fall apart briefly and quit swapping after flaking a couple times, but I'm back and re-invested and looking forward to sharing cool stuff.
Mostly metal, Alternative, folk, and indie stuff.
Action or Suspense. I like heist flicks or ones with a twist at the end the most. But I don't turn up my nose at a frivolous chick-flick.
I like things with good ensemble casts. Old school Doctor Who, West Wing and Gilmore Girls devote, but there's all sorts of interesting things out, especially on Netflix, Prime, and HBO.
Knitting, Beading, Making models of bridges out of balsa wood (though I haven't had much time for model making lately).
I'm kind of anti-plastic. I like natural materials, cotton, silk, wools, stone, wood, glass, metal..
Mostly I read Mysteries, Fantasy, and philosophy, though recentlyu I am mostly reading things that are historical action/mystery/suspense/quest novels.
I also have a bit soft spot for well done YA stuff... oooo guilty pleasures... Harry Potter, Dark Matterials Trilogy, Sisterhood of the Traveling pants, the Twilight saga... And I have also been v. into the whole "cozy" mystery thing lately. (I really shouldn't admit to it but it is great when you want something really lazy to do...)
I am a big tea drinker. For me it is a year round drink. Most of what I drink is loose leaf, but some is bagged - especially when I'm on the go or at work. I
I love yellow flowers, Roses that smell, Forget-me-nots, irises, and columbines.
My favorite color combination is purple and green. Odd I know... but in general I like cool colors, so I suppose it does make sense... if your me. :) I am also big on Teals and heathery pinks.
I ride my bike all the time. I try to commute to work when I can and prefer long tour rides to anything that's a race.

Just saying hi! I noticed you were signed up for another book swap I just joined and checked your profile because I'm bored...I'm from Chicago too! Hope you have a good Thanksgiving! Sara
Thanks for the Fancy Formosa Dragon Oolong!
thanks for being a part of my Simple Tea bag swap (Inter)
Congrats on finishing your shawl! That's awesome! :D
Hello! I am sending off the teal yarn tomorrow, feel free to send me something you think is worth it :) I really liked those stitch markers on your blog.....I have never done it but we can make it a private swap if you want to. Have a good day!
OMG! cooan's comment made me laugh! your envie is going out tomorrow. sorry it's so late! hope you like it and thanks for the needles and bonus cotton. man, those suckers are teeeennnyyyy!
Thanks for the knitting needles! I can't wait to use them! Did you get your tea yet?
Actually, it was not that hideous at all, I was joking. I got the blue and yellow...my son likes the yellow, it's his favorite color! And since it is easy care yarn (as I like to call acrylic, since it is just that!), I can make a little something for him or knit them into squares for charity. Probably for him, he loves it when I knit for him and since I do not have to worry about it shrinking, or getting dirty since I can wash it...
hey there! i got the knittin' needles, thank you SO MUCH! and i have yet to get yours off, i'm soo sorry, with all this drama with my mom and loosing all those kittens this past week, my brain has not been with it... but i WILL get with it... no flakers on this end! but do accept my apologies for being late in reciprocating...it's been kinda rough... ugh!
and i thank you so very much... now... to try to actually DO this thing. :-D
Melissa, Your teas went in the mail this am! :)
