I take my swaps seriously and am not a flaker. If you haven't received a swap, please drop me a message to let me know and I will try to find out what's happened.
Thank you!
Hello! :)
I am very new to swap-bot but I think it is a WONDERFUL idea!
I'm twenty-two years old and living in London. I don't drive. I am fortunate enough to live within an hour of Central London and love to walk through town, even when I have nowhere in mind to go.
My pets are all family, they include a now elderly beagle whom has been a part of our family since he was a pup, a cockatiel who is almost as old as I am (and who has been in the family since leaving his mother) and a tank of tropical fish.
The fish I am looking after for a friend travelling over the next year. I love them. I may have to buy my own when they return, although it obviously won't be the same. They are very relaxing to watch... And fantastically colourful! My favourites are, the creatively named, Stripey, the clown loach, closely followed by Heidi, the (male) bristlenose pleco.
I would love to travel myself some day, I follow friends travel blogs and am always in awe at the photographs.
I like to collect photographs or postcards of different places around the world. Handmade postcards are also fantastic. I like postcards with different, cute or interesting postage stamps. But, of course, all postcards are welcomed and appreciated.
I love surprises. :)
I try to recycle wherever I can.
I love art, music, film and all things comedy; stand up, or anything which brings a smile to my face. I think animals and birdies are lovely. My favourite animal is the giraffe. (Elephants, hippopotamus, and octopus are pretty awesome, too!) I'm an adventurous and creative person and I'm always looking to push myself and discover new things. (This year I was hoping to push myself to learn rock-climbing, but unfortunately I never made it. Maybe next year?)
I enjoy arts, crafts, meeting new people, learning new things and sending and receiving mail! I am learning to craft in lots of different ways at the moment and am always interested in giving something new a go.
I doodle quite a bit whenever I can, and always love to see other people's artwork.
I like all colours. My favourite at the moment are greens, browns and earthy colours, purple, red, orange or funky psychedelic colour combinations.
I have lots of random likes. Some misc favourites are: thrift shop treasures (I love having a nose around in thrift stores - or charity/second-hand shops as they're better know in the UK - they're like treasure troves!), secondhand books (love old, old hardcover books), handmade jewellery, peacock feathers, toadstools/colourful mushrooms, cute/quirky items, beautiful/interesting fabrics, ATCs, stationary, kawaii stickers, babushka dolls, string dolls, hats, scarves, antique/vintage keys, buttons, anything from other countries, anything homemade.
I'm a very musical person, I enjoy all sorts of music. From Ambient to Psychedelic Trance to Swing to Ska, I really don't mind!
Some of my favourite musicians include: The Cat Empire, Shimshai, Tina Malia, The Ditty Bops, Kimya Dawson, Astrix, Belle & Sebastian (There really are so many, I will do my best to add to these list as they come to me...)
In future I would like to learn to play at least one instrument... The best I can do at the moment is the tambourine!
I'm currently working on the Adrian Mole series, a love of my childhood which started with The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 3/4. I can barely remember the content now, but I do remember the laughs! One memory that stands out in particular was the result of his experimentation with glue-sniffing...
I would love to go back and re-read these books, I have currently unwittingly jumped ahead in the series after spying Adrian Mole: The Prostrate Years in my local charity shop. I am now on the hunt for every book in between.
I am also a huge fan of Terry Pratchett's Discworld, a flat world drifting through space, carried on the backs of four elephants which, in turn, stand atop the shell of a giant turtle, The Great A'Tuin. The Discworld novels and characters are simply fantastic. :)
I love Tim Burton!
I love film. In fact, in a trip to the movieum, a film museum on the South Bank in London, I recently discovered Charlie Chaplin's movies. I could have sat in there and watched them all day... What a genius!
Of course, I do love modern day film as well. A few off the top of my head would be: The Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride, Juno, Zoolander, Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter, Avatar, Disney's Pocahontas... And lots more that I can't remember.
Favourite films of my childhood: Dot and the Kangaroo (I will never forget this film, it was my absolutely favourite, I can't tell you how many afternoons I spent in my Grandparent's living room with this on the telly. :) ), Pete's Dragon, Disney's Robin Hood
Black Books, Arrested Development, The Big Bang Theory, Dharma & Greg, Ugly Betty, Jeeves & Wooster, Blackadder II, The Third & Goes Forth, QI, Mock the Week, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Live at the Apollo, The Mighty Boosh, The Powerpuff Girls (and many, many more - especially cartoons!)

I'm still waiting for my Peacock theme ATC. You haven't responded to my most recent (third) PM.
I hope you are well.
I still have not received your ATC for the Series- Red. I will rate when I receive it. Hope you are well!
Hi! This is kayler00 your partner for Read your Profile & Comment. =)
I think it's very cool that you live in London, I'm a wee bit jealous! =) I collect postcards, too. Since I do not have the funds to travel that is how I travel! I love putting them in photo albums & looking at them at random times. I also love Tim Burton. TNMBC is a childhood favorite of mine, it'll always be a classic. Coraline I really liked too, even though Tim Burton didn't do it. Have you seen that? Very good movie. =) Glad to see you on Swap-Bot!
Have you been able to send your Peacock ATC? I'm eagerly awaiting it's arrival :)
Heya, have you received the sock and cocoa yet? I sent it registered mail, which cost triple more then the contents itself! LOL! Please let me know when you receive. Thanks Nicola
Hello, Thank you for letting me read your profile! I have been once in London and wow what a beautiful town it is! I am in love with the st. Paul's Cathedrale. Will you be there also during the wedding of Kate and her prince? I think it will be an event of once a lifetime! I am very curious about the music you like. I am going to watch on you tube if I can find it! I wish you a very nice 2011! Saskia
hi i'm your partner for "read profile and comment swap" first i wouild llike to say "omggg you live in surryyyyy like harry potter!!" ^_^
well i'm new to this so i'll end the comment here :)
Hello! Your words are so well composed! You have a great amount about yourself on your profile, which is admirable (considering I never know what to write when I fill out my own profiles). Also, GO ROCK CLIMBING! Just a friendly reminder to not forget about your endeavors. Tim Burton makes terrific films, and I remember discovering Charlie Chaplin a long time ago... He was working in a factory in the episode that I saw, that's all I remember right now... Anyway, I enjoyed reading your profile, especially about all the animals!
Welcome to swap-bot, by the way!

Hi Jessica! I'm dylannika, or Karen, and I'm one of your partners for the Read my profile and post a comment swap.
I live in London too... except it's in Ontario, Canada! We got hit hard by snow in December, so I completely understand how it can mess up services like the mail. Hope you get all your swaps in and out!
