I'm 21 years old and have been doing art since I can remember. I've always loved creating things. In 2006 my life meant nothing to me until one night Jesus Christ showed up in my room and removed a gun from my hand. Things have never been the same since. I've been on 3 mission trips (Grand Junction, CO Dallas, TX and New York, New York), and fell in love with Brooklyn, New York and the people there. My heart beats for youth ministry, and proclaiming the gospel to the nations. I married my best friend October 15, 2011 and together we hope to one day be leading a youth ministry in which we can unite youth from all churches as a coalition to proclaim the gospel wherever we are. He has been to South Africa, Romania, Alaska and Kenya on mission trips, and we would love to go to Africa together leading a team of missionaries. Adam (my husband) and I love to create art together, and it's so much fun just playing with some paint on a canvas and seeing what we end up with.
As I mentioned in the About Me section I've been creating art since I was little, but my style has changed over time. I'm not sure that I really have a certain style per-say but I love all types of art. I have recently dived into the art of art journaling and mixed media, and I love it so much. I love painting, sketching, using chalk and oil pastels. Most of all I just love to express a message through my art of hope and love. My faith comes out in my art a lot, and I love to see how other people express their faith in art. Sometimes it's really obvious like putting a scripture on the piece, other times it's just an emotion you get from looking at it. I usually draw during church, and sometimes it's just little doodles but sometimes the sermon comes out through my art, and an idea is expressed in my journal that I can then transfer onto a canvas. I love when God speaks to me through art.

Hi, Mshackle, nice to meet you. You sound like a very interesting person. Hope your dreams come true. I love doing art journaling too. Maybe we can exchange journals someday.

This is kind of where my brain is right now. My elve is running around like crazy making all kinds of suggestions for his story. I keep saying "Just shut up and let ME write."
Hi from the Comment & Quote Swap! Quote: Give thanks for unknown blessings already on their way'. ~Native American Saying
Comment: I love blue too! I am honestly happy that you found God and that you are doing his work! Aweome!
Comment and quote swap How nice you are to devote your time helping others. My very favorite thing to do is to talk about Jehovah God, so our preaching work is a delight to me also. Knowing his Son perfectly reflects Him, makes my love for Jesus run almost as deep as my love for God.
See how easy it is for me to start talking about Jehovah and his dear Son.
I like art now also, even though I am not that great in any art work.
I do have a funny bone also, and my quote is going to make thank known. It is the one I used for yesterdays postcard and I think it is cure enough for this swap.
"Tomorrow's Yesterday Is Today, 'n Yesterday's Tomorrow Is Also Today... But Today's Yesterday Was Yesterday's Today, So...Tomorrow's Today Is Today's Tomorrow.. !"

Hi Michelle! I'm one of your partners for the 'Comment & Quote' swap. It's nice meeting you, I loved reading your profile & getting to know you a little :) I've also been making art since I was very little, but sadly I don't really have much time nowadays. I really miss it. Anyways, here's one of my favorite quotes, I hope you like it (it's also one of my favorite poems :)
"In the clearing beyond the castle the twelve months sit about a fire, warming their feet, exchanging tales. They may do favors for you, if you are polite. You may pick strawberries in December's frost."
~ Neil Gaiman - Instructions

Thanks for the nice comment you left on my profile. I love the quote as well. I'd love a new pen pal...I'll let you write the first letter though. I'll PM you with my address later today so you have it. Can't wait to hear from you.
Hi, You asked how I could do so many swaps in such a short time? I am very organized. I live on a remote island in Alaska, so I have to fly out, weather permitting, to get my supplies, or...order things on e--bay. When I go to town, I buy 100 PC at a time, bring them home and have them all orgainzed in a box, where I also keep the unusedf ones sent to me by other people. Before we moved out here, I bought all kinds of art supplies, where ever I could find them, on sale, so I would have the things, I would need to be able to make things. I use clear boxes, fishing lure containers, and totes to organize all my stuff. Those white banker's boxes are great too! I keep my stamps and stickers in boxes that I have taped and cut file folders in half to make mini folders to orgainze my stickers. I also keep a journal, to keep track of my swaps in, write the name of the swap, when it is due, the people I am sending it to, and what their preferences are from their profiles. This may sound like a lot of work, but I know where my stuff is, so it takes very little time to do a swap. I keep my paints, embellishments, yarns, felt, papers, envelopes, address labels, etc, where I can use them all the time. Also I am thinking about or drawing ideas for swaps even before I know who my partners are, and work on 3 or 4 at a time. Right now, I am making a 10 legged bear out of wool roving, a rhyme, a rune and a riddance, a state map, an art collage and thinking about what I want to build for friendship books and smash books. It really helps to write it down. Hope this helps you too, and best of luck and blessings in your life's journey. Love in Jesus, Sherry
Hi! Thanks for the msg and welcome to swapbot! I am so glad to hear that there has been such an incredible change to your life because of Jesus. I'm so glad you're here with us ~ there is so much ahead of you.
You've been given such a gift, creating and painting and you're blessed to realize early on that you've been given this destiny in reaching out to people.
Always ask the Lord for wisdom and may He always guard your heart.
