I am a Reading teacher although I am not a novel reader. I love children's picture books and have a great collection I share with my students. Reading to them is one of the best things I love about my job. I do enjoy reading magazines.
I am married and have two teenagers and a dog.
I like easy listening music especially Jazz and classic Rock and Roll.
I love a good ol chick flick with a box of tissues and enjoy watching old sitcoms.
I am very outdoorsy and my favorite season is definitely fall. My home is colored in earth tones with a leafy theme. I enjoy gardening and spend a lot of time planting and taking care of my flower beds.
My husband and I love to travel with our two kids. We like to site see and learn about the history of new places instead of the usual touristy kind of stuff. I never leave home without my camera(s).
I love all kinds of crafts, including mosaics, jewelry making, card making and mixed media art. I love trying out new craft ideas and if it is a success, I'll stick with it, This is probably why I don't knit.
I also enjoy quotes/ works of Ralph Waldo Emerson.
I am known to talk to anyone. It annoys my family that I converse with strangers but I have met a lot of interesting people.
I love tag and estate sales and buying old stuff I can turn into something new. I have my own craft room where I can be found working on ...something.
I am not afraid to get a gift that comes from a thrift store, so I guess I am easy to shop for and easy to please. I appreciate all things I receive as gifts.
I have a small collection of old Ohio Art recipe boxes I store my supplies in. I don't know how that collection started, but it seems to be growing.
Every Christmas each member of my family gets something handmade by me! It's a tradition I started a few years ago and they all look forward to something personal from me.
I also am a dog lover. All kinds. I donate treats, towels and blankets I pick up at tag sales to the local dog warden. My own dog is a rescue and I would have more if my family would allow it. When I retire from teaching I am going to become a dog groomer.
I enjoy taking pictures of nature and framing them to hang on the walls of my home.
Lastly, I love to do volunteer work around the community.
I have a passion for children's picture books. I love to read them and admire the colorful art work and pictures. There are so many good ones out there it wouldn't be fair to pick a favorite.
My favorite colors are green, esp. lime green, oranges and reds, like the color of fall leaves.
I have a collection of old and new pottery and platters that I use on a regular basis. I always say delicious food should be served on a beautiful platter.
I enjoy vintage Christmas cards and Valentines and have more rubber stamps than I know what to do with. I also enjoy old black and white photographs or photos in general.
There are a few things I dislike. Peas and lima beans are not my favorite. Neither are green peppers.
I am not a big fan of chocolate either.
I don't care for sarcasm in conversations. Or people who make fun of others.
I greatly dislike spiders, toads and mosquitoes.unless they are in art.
I don't care for anime, kawaii or gothic art. I know some do, but that is their right.
Lastly, I can't stand heat and humidity because I don't like to feel sweaty.
