Hi My name is Miranda. I am Dutch and live together with my husband and son in Edinburgh, Scotland, a city that I love. I have recently re-discovered crafting and try to spend as much time as possible (which is not nearly as much time as I would like) at making softies, bags and bits and bobs for in the house. We are hopefully moving to the Eastcoast of Scotland soon, cant wait to have nice walks on the beach... :-)) (I've started daydreaming now)
I love almost all music, depending what mood I'm in. However, I always seem to go back to rock and singer/songwriter type things.
I am very into classic English literature, and Jane Austen is my favorite writer at the moment. (18th century chick lit ;-) )
I also like the American Author Neil Gaiman and indulge in some chick lit or Harrry Potter (also great!)or childrens literature with a glass of wine and loads of chocolate whenever I feel like it.
i love Alfred Hitchcock movies, almost all of them, but my favorite is rear window. I also love Audrey Hepburn and most of her movies. I like movies like memento, the game, 13 monkeys, and kids adventure movies like Narnia, the wizard of Oz, etc. Recently I saw Brick on tv and I thought it was great!
I dont stay in much for t.v, unless heroes is on. I like Hugh fernley Whittingstall.
Sewing stuffed animals, monsters etc, making bags, I am going to try crochet soon because i'd love to be able to make amigurimi dolls and try my hand on doodle stitching soon.
I love craft magazines. marie Claire Idee, any Japanese craft mags, quilt and patchwork mags, anything Martha steward-ish is great!
Oh, and for anyone living in Belgium or The Netherlands, Ariadne at home , VT Wonen, 101 woonideeen and viva are my absolute favorites!
Chocolate!! Any kind, but especially dark chocolate with ginger or orange or spiced with pepper.(yes, really!)
I'd love to do some one on ones, for softies, done in any medium, but I'd especially like crocheted / knitted ones (I cant do it myself but am trying to get the hang of crochet at the moment)
