I'm a university student in Toronto, working in Cultural Studies and Queer Theory. I'm interested in painting, drawing, fashion design, environmental issues, knitting, DIY, gardening, and human rights issues. I'm vegan, and I collect recipes. I'm a native English speaker, and (attempt) to speak/write in French, Spanish and Norwegian. I love learning new languages, so if English isn't comfortable for you go ahead and write in your own language! It's like sending me a friendly puzzle! (For folks trading letters with me, if you have a learning disability or we're not writing in your native tongue let me know and I will type for you. My handwriting is terrible! No need to make things harder than they already are.)
I'm a writing addict- I can't stop. Most of my writing these days is fiction when I'm not writing papers for school, but I dabble in poetry and instructional things too.
My favourite colours are green and blue. I like anarchists and post-gender weirdos, and anyone who doesn't like to follow a pattern. I have neither time nor patience for racists, homophobes or anyone who stopped learning as soon as they graduated from school.
I love animals of all kinds, especially dogs and horses. Right now I live in the big city, which is no place for a pet. If you send pictures of your pets when you write me it'll put a big smile on my face. I also love other people's kids. I haven't met the right person to have any of my own yet.
Lamb of God, Battlecross, Gogol Bordello, Blackbird Raum, Death Angel, Guns N Roses, NOFX, David Rovics, the Dirty Heads, and a crap ton of punk bands most people have never heard of.
Derrick Jensen's Endgame ( 1 and 2- love the message of these books even if the DGR turned out to be a transphobic bunch of losers), Gender Outlaws by S. Bear Bergman and Kate Bornstein, Fall On Your Knees by Ann Marie MacDonald, everything ever written by Zadie Smith, Neil Gaiman, Terry Prachett or Jonathan Carroll. Cory Doctorow, Tom Robbins, and David Foster Wallace are high on my list too. I love books of all kinds.
Also Biopunk by Marcus Wohlsen, tied with Quantum Mechanics and Path Integrals by Richard Feynman. I'm not sure I understand all of the Feynman, but trying sure is fun!
Right now, I'm really into documentaries, particularly ones about the DIY/indie craft scene and the European Black Metal scene in the early 1990s.
I miss Dexter. I watch Sons of Anarchy, which is a bit like admitting I'm a jackass. I love Criminal Minds, CSI, all the crime procedurals. I loved Firefly too.
I'm a fan of crafting in general. I personally do painting and drawing, knitting, stencilling/screenprinting and costume making. I consider cooking a craft. I've been making and collecting zines dedicated to vegan cooking for five or six years now.
Deathly allergic to: perfume, stickers, and religion. If it stinks, sticks, or saves DON'T send it to me, no matter what your imaginary friend tells you.

Welcome to ASBB! I am not sure that I understand Feynman, either (well, actutally, I know that I don't!), but it sure is fun to try, isn't it?!
Welcome to swap-bot! Happy creating.
