Hi There - My name is Ashlee and I am currently living in Alexandria, VA which is right outside Washington, DC.

I graduated from College of Charleston with degrees in history and classical studies. I am a firm believer that history does repeat itself. As you can probably tell, I am a dedicated reader. Share with me some of your favorite books or just what you're reading right now. One of my favorite books is "Neverwhere" by Neil Gaiman.

Not only do I enjoy escaping by the written word, but also through travel. Whether it's a day trip out to the mountains of Virginia or a week long trip to another country - I love to travel! What is your favorite restaurant or coffee shop where you live? Are there any sites I absolutely must see?

I'm a huge geek. I love crafts, movies, TV shows, and games. Right now I've really been getting into different games. They can be board games, card games, or even games involving dice. What games do you enjoy playing?

I've played flute for over half my life, then set it down after college. Recently I've been trying to get back into it by joining my local community band. Though ensembles are mostly known for their marches and classical music, I love, love, love music. Any kind! Let me know what you're listening to these days or that one song that you HAVE to sing along to.

★ If you are up to it, I would love to receive the first page of the first chapter of "The Count of Monte Cristo" in your language (if it's other than English). It's another favorite of mine. Just rip it out of an obliging book, mail it in an envelope or paste/Mod Podge it to a piece of cardboard the same size and mail it like a postcard! I believe that collection could be amazing and I'd love you forever for it!

★ I prefer all different kinds of postcards. I would ideally like postcards from your town (or the closest one to you). I like funny postcards, pop culture postcards, and inappropriate postcards as well. Feel free to send me anything you especially like!!

★ Food. I love food and chances are I will be participating in quite a few recipe swaps. I am not partial to chocolate or tomatoes. I have no allergies, so no worries there!
