Male, married, father of two (he is grown-up, she is almost). A former teacher (of English Language and Literature), then a Translator, Technical Writer, now an IT Business Analyst. I like reading. Anything; but fiction (no filters) and poetry is preferred to so called news, product labels or user manuals (out of residual professional interest I still read them all). I love languages. Ageing 53, feeling as a 20-something, thinking as.... required. Fatally introvert (INTJ). Interested in all things good and beautiful. I prefer written or painted media to big screen, television or any other form in which others define my pacing and imagination.
Way too many to list. Pride and Prejudice, Tristram Shandy, Pickwick Papers, Lord of the Rings, War and Piece, The Brothers Karazoff on the top of that list. Mostly fiction. Classics (Jane Austen, Brontës, Swift, Dickens, Thomas Mann, Tolstoy, Bulgakoff....) and modern ones (Tolkien, Asimov, Clarke, Frank McCourt, Saramago). Fantasy, Science-fiction. I even read and like YA books and series.
Sibelius, Rachmaninoff, Beethoven, Queen, Liszt, Bach, Greenday, Puccini, Rossini, Van Canto... I like a huge number of individual pieces rather like genres or artists/composers.
Cooking (especially onpen fire, but not BBQ). Baking (bread and its relatives rather than cakes). Writing, in every sense: lettering, journalling, correspondance. (Allegedly, I have even written poetry, as well, but scholar or publisher has yet dug through my drawers or our rubbish bin for them...) I write or have already written with roughly anything that leas a mark; my instruments of preference are fountain pens, dip pens, pencils and knives.
