Favorite Crafts

My name is Gina, and I can't wait to get started! My crafting interest began decades ago sitting in my grandmothers house watching my aunt crochet, cross stitch, sew, paper craft, bead, etc. I love to make quilts, and holiday crafts. I treasure something handmade far more than something bought.
Although I love splashes of color, I'm more moody than outgoing. I prefer darker back drops to enhace the upfront color. Some of my favorite colors are hues of purple, orange, pinks and certain shades of green and blue. I hate neon colors, and rarely find "shiney" paper necessary for anything other than Christmas bling. I tend to participate in certain crafts only during certain times of the year. Quilting is done in the winter time, as is crocheting. Cross stitch and paper crafting is done year round. And holiday crafts are usually began at least a couple of months before the holiday.

Favorite Movies

I enjoy cartoon themed movies such as Lilo and Stitch and Tangled. Who can go wrong with a child oriented movie right? I also enjoy the fantasy and magic of Harry Potter. Wizardry, spells, castles and broomsticks........what a wonderful thought! The thrill of science fiction and horror also holds my attention.
My absolute hate in the movie isle is a romance film or utter drama. I dont get into weepy eyed, tearful scenes because i'd much rather laugh. Jackass the movie was a waste of good film and time. But Hangover was hilarious.

About Me

I have 2 wonderful little grand daughters that keep me busy smiling and laughing and buying craft supplies to entertain them. They are forever exploring and their imagination gives me craft ideas from time to time. Leena will be 5 in October and she loves arts and crafts, swimming, bugs and insects (except for spiders) and is a pretty mature intelligent little girl for her age. Maddyson is just over a year old and the most smiling child I know. She is happy about everything. She seems to like music and will "sing" and "dance" when she hears it.

I enjoy nature, and all things living. animals are a particular favorite. I have spent a large portion of life raising exotic animals and studying their behavior in captivity. I watch all things and find them truly fascinating from the turtle crossing the road, to the hummingbirds fighting over the sugar water in my feeder.

I I love to make cards for each and every holiday and birthday that comes along. I find it gives me a purpose to look forward to. The cards I make I try to match to the person I send it to, but also consider it a part of myself that I'd like to share. Not all people get mushy over cards, I'm definately not the type to, but I do appreciate the time and thought that goes into them as they're made and only ask the same in return for my own work.

I try to put alot of myself into my crafts, and if for any reason, you aren't happy, feel free to contact me. I am new at this afterall. And learning that one's person's vision of creative, is another's vision of chaos.

Favorite Music

I was born a country bumpkin. But I like a few different kinds of music. I can get into old rock N roll like John Cougar and Skynard. I remember the age of disco (said remembered, not liked) and the Hair bands. Nostalgia is great, but i prefer the country style.

Favorite Television

Television should at least be entertaining or informative. Which leaves quite a bit to be desired these days. But I do like episodes of Bones, House, SVU, Supernatural and Criminal Minds.

Things I like

My all time favorite of holidays in the crafting spot is Halloween and Christmas. I like recieving scrappin supplies, photos, fibers, ribbons, paper, patterns, brads and almost anything useful. Printable digitals are also doable! I am interested in also recieving some small embellishment type items from other countries that are country specific regarding their holidays, or things or people they recognize.

I love recipes on cards, book marks or in books! And as I said anything Halloween or Christmas!

Things I hate

I don't care much for shiny bling, or really frilly girlie stuff. I like it femenine, but i didn't hold the lead in "Legally Blonde"

I have no religious preference. I tend not to lean toward the overly religious cards or representations, but would never take offense at someone else's belief. Turn around being fair play of course. Don't give, if you don't wanna recieve.

Something New

I try to add new techniques or the use of new items to my paper crafting as often as I can. Recently I've been practicing paper quilling. Its pretty easy, and looks good. I'm interested in getting new patterns from anyone that also quills. Feel free to contact me and maybe we can swap some instructions!

Comment: Nature and theology respecting to! I totally agree. Lord, I've never lived where churches grow I loved creation better as it stood That day you finished it so long ago And looked upon your work and called it good I know that others find you in the light That sifted down through tinted window panes And yet I seem to feel you near tonight In this dim, quiet starlight on the plains -Johnny Cash
