I am a home schooling mom of my many children... well only 4, but it seems like more! I live in a 115 year old house situated in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. I have been married to my best friend for 24 years. We have a chaotic home that is frequently brimming with extra kids, too many shoes, and the flotsam and jetsam of life! I have a passion for sewing... both hand and machine. I teach sewing classes at our local fabric store and I especially enjoy teaching my kids classes!! My husband claims that store owner is only enabling my addiction to fabric!! In my spare time...HAHAHA... okay, in the time I should be doing housework, I enjoy my sewing, beading, making handmade cards, and oh, so much more. Anyway...that is me in a very small nutshell!!
I like most types of music...well, not heavy metal... and particularly enjoy folk, gospel, and Contemporary Christian Music.
I am an avid reader. If I don't have time to read, I listen to them on my ipod!! Classics are my favorite but will read just about anything! One of my very favorites is a quaint little book called "Mrs. Mike" and I have read "A Town like Alice" too many times to count! I am currently reading "Pippi Longstockings" to my 7 year old daughter and it makes me laugh just like it did when I was her age!! The only thing I don't read are formulaic and smutty novels...probably because my taste in books were richly shaped by my grandmother and mother! :-)
As for things I like... fabric, beads, paper, notions-especially buttons and ricrack! I enjoy vintage handkerchiefs, lace and sewing items. Most colors make me happy for one reason or another except for super brights and neons.
I am not a big fan of anything having to do with witch craft or the occult.
