30 yo living in Melbourne, in sunny Australia. I live with my husband, a cat and two spaniels.
*** Please be aware that I have a cat, and that she like to snuggle when I knit, and [despite my best efforts] she has gotten into my fabric roon. This means that I cannot guarantee that anything from me will be free of pet hair : (. I do try to keep her separate from what I am doing, but for people with allergies, I thought it would be prudent to give a head's up. ***
I love punk and ska, as well as electronic music and rap - but I can appreciate most genres of music. Having said that, I don't really a lot of time for new school folk pop.
Ghost Ship, Carlito's Way, The New Guy, Buffalo Soldiers, The Usual Suspects.
Probably the Boondocks - but I don't watch a lot of TV.
I have loved the Wire, but am too chicken to watch the final few episodes of the last season, because the happy endings I want for some characters aren't going to happen.
I enjoy knitting and sewing and embroidery - and will have a go at most fibre crafts. I can't crochet for nuts!
Red or mostly red fabric scraps are very welcome as I have red scrap quilt project - which I am lacking fabric for!
I love blues and greys - muted colours generally, but I enjoy cold weather colours. I am not keen on purple or yellow very much.
Although I am not an outdoorsy person, I grow roses and enjoy gardening. Antique roses are my special love.
I love the Japanese zakka aesthetic, especially the use of linens and aged textiles. Vintage fabric is also something I drool over.
My yarn stash is getting to be a problematic size - I love buying it, but I am not knitting enough!
The thrill of getting something new in the mail, that is not a demand for money from a utility company is something that puts a spring in my step. The surprise that is in it is probably the best thing.
Red or mostly red fabric scraps are very welcome as I have red scrap quilt project - which I am lacking fabric for!
New threads are always welcome - crewel wool, embroidery floss, topstitching thread, sashiko thread - anything that can be used to stitch!
Perle /pearl cotton is guaranteed heart territory!
I also have an especial love of buttons.
Anything from superbuzzy.com or Etsuko Furuya or that ilk is so charming.
Nautical themed things, and especially anchors float my boat in a very big way.
EZ bobs, the flexible bobbins for storing thread and such aren't available in Australia, and I am itching to try some!
Australia has some pretty fierce quarantine laws - basically anything with raw food/animal/plant products are no nos by post.
Also, as much as this breaks my heart to say, we are in the middle of an extremely hot summer and any chocolate sent by post will melt ... My hips probably think that this is good advice, but I love chocolate! [This would probably apply to candles as well, as the heat is pretty extreme.]
