Hi! Thanks for stopping by my profile. My name is Kate (or Katie but most of my family calls me Kate) I live in MO (near STL) and love to be creative. My brain craves a creative outlet and S-B is the perfect solution! I am working on penmanship (I really dislike my handwriting) and on sending creative and decorated envelopes. I love to doodle but am not great at it. Practice! I work as an Executive Director at a pregnancy resource center and as the Business Development Coordinator at a Christian school.
~I always check my partner's profile and try my very best to customize every swap to my partner's preferences and favorites. I really love to send thoughtful and meaningful swaps.
I love to digi scrap in my spare time and work as an uploader for Pixel Scrapper and moderate a few of the chat forums. I also work in development (fundraising) for a nearby school and work three days a week at a little tea shop in my town. I love the tea shop and love tea. Earl Grey is my most favorite. Really, I love all teas but stay away from anything that tastes sweet.
I love planner and stationary related items. Stickers, washi, colored pens, and anything related to organizing! I could spend hours in Hobby Lobby or office supply stores! I was using a Happy Planner (classic size) but began to not like the arc system rings. I switched to a bound planner and find writing in it to be much easier. I also carry an A5 planner. Very versatile.
My favorite color is green with blue coming in at a very close second! But, I really don't think there are any colors I do not like.
I like all type of themes but if I were to have a least favorite it would be vintage. I don't really like dull colors. Maybe I associate vintage with duller colors? I prefer to stay away from political preferences. Don't want the drama. No nude or pornographic themes either please. Also, please nothing cheap or dollar storeish. Nothing that is just going to get thrown away. I also promise not to send anything like that.
I do not have any allergies. But I do not burn any candles in my house. I do like good quality essential oils.
I buy post cards when ever we travel and collect magnets from all of our vacations. My daughter collects snow globes.
I dislike anything zodiac or anything that would be considered dark, evil, or supernatural.
I recently joined a couple swaps that focused on making tags. At first I thought they were the kind of tags you put on gifts. LOL NO they are not that kind of tag! I am new to tag making but really like that form of creativity. Mini Pocket Letters are a lot of fun too. I am growing in my creativity in both those craft outlets.
Painting rocks has been a popular and relaxing craft for me and my kids. We love to hide them when we go to cool places. Acrylic paint is great but paint pens are so easy for kids to use (and less messy!)
My daughter and I enjoy watching crafty channels on YouTube. We both love Moriah Elizabeth. We recently found NerdECrafter on YouTube and love Jackie as well. SimplyNailogolical is a guilty pleasure. Cristine is so funny! Orgainze 365 is a favorite as well.
I have always wanted to learn calligraphy but haven't found the time to try it yet.
More than anything I LOVE to craft with paper. Card making is something I especially enjoy. I recently purchased a Cricut Explore Air 2 and have had a lot of fun learning to use it. I mostly wanted it for cutting paper dies, stickers, and some scrapbook elements. Memory keeping is a fantastic concept but requires a lot of time and focus. I have started December Daily a couple times but never really got past a day or two. One Little Word is something else I would love to try someday but time is an issue. Maybe I will try A Day in the Life or A Week in the Life first and see how that goes!
Learning to use the machine for vinyl has been fun. I now want to label everything in my house!
Pretty much anything FBI/CIA or police dramas. British dramas are always fun to binge watch. Parks and Rec and The Office are at the very top of my list of favorite shows. My daughter and I love watching Dr. Pol together. I love TED talks too.
