--> I'm taking a bit of a break from swapping at the moment. I might do the odd swap here and there, it's hard to let go completely. I have a lot going on though so can't have as much fun with it as I'd like.
I am a full time worker and part time study nerd and have always had a general stationary, planning, crafty and organisation obsession. I think it's time to get busy and use some of the papers and pens and stickers and so on that I've collected. It's been so long since I've had a pen pal or received any fun snail mail other than online purchases (usually stationary related). I'm looking forward to participating in some swaps. I loved this idea straight away when I stumbled on this site. I'm hoping a little crafty letter writing session every now and then will help me chill out and meet some new and interesting people around the world.
I live in Brisbane, Australia. I'm in my 40's, no kids. I've done a fair bit of travelling. I have a cat. He's ginger and gorgeous, and we get on most days, but he can be a bit moody. Sorry if you get a fur or two in your mail. He is everywhere!
I'm doing a part time law degree. It is taking FOREVER, and I have way too many post it notes! I love food (too much) and cooking. Not so much into exercise but I really need to change that. I love pinterest and instagram but I'm a follower, not a poster. I love interior design and dreaming of house plans and renovations and what I might be able to do one day (when I win the lotto). One of my favourite things to do is go homewares shopping and reorganising rooms in my apartment. I'm loving Scandinavian styling with lots of white and wood.
I have recently joined the planner craze and love my filofaxes and travellers notebooks. Not too sure what to use them all for though. I love the cold and hate summer. And I've never seen snow!
I'm really looking forward to sending and receiving some swaps. I hope you'll bear with me as I improve with practice! Also, I'm not sure how the timestamping etc works with international time. I will most often put mail in my suburban post box after work. I'll make sure it gets to the box on time according to the swap-bot clock, but it may not be picked up until the next day, or even a couple of days later if it's the weekend.
Anything with stationary and paper.
I have no real drawing or artistic ability, so I go abstract.
I love photography and I am improving.
I'm learning to sew and am half way through my first quilting project.
I've played around with cake decorating.
My all time favourites that I can listen to any time are: U2 (I think I've seen them live at least 6 times) Powderfinger Travis Maroon 5 Muse Adele Greenday Boy and Bear
But I like so much more as well.
I'm not into Metal, Rap or Crazy Dance Music so much.
I like most things sci-fi and fantasy, and tend to binge watch tv shows. There are a lot of series I've started but haven't kept up to date on. Some of my current and old favourites are:
Suits Utopia Dr Who Game of Thrones (but I have a lot of catching up to do) The Crown Once Upon A Time Outlander Downton Abbey Blue Bloods Blacklist Castle Vikings Broadchurch The Paradise Haven Eureka Grimm Star Trek Stargate X-Files Pride and Prejudice (in all forms - book, movie, mini-series)
I love and use:
My style is simple, minimalist and functional. Lots of black, white, grey and silver. I do like colour and usually go for blues, greens, and purples most often.
I like stickers and bits and pieces of ephemera. These I collect and need to make an effort to use. I'm recently loving the vintage, travel journal style using lots of stamps and the like.
I'm not a big fan of cutesy cartoon and kawaii stickers and glittery things. And gold, rose gold and copper are not really for me. I'm also no a fan of anything religious. I don't mind if you are, but it's not my thing.
So that is my general style and likes. But life is boring if you never step out of your comfort zone. So anything lovingly shared will be gratefully enjoyed!
PS. I've discovered that Star Trek and Star Wars postage stamps exist! Brilliant. I am a sci-fi fan so would love to get some of these to add to the collection :-)
