HI! My name is Willy (I'm a woman if you are wondering.) I'm so excited to be joining Swap-bot. I am a full-time professional photographer in Denver, Colorado. I had a pretty major creative block last year (2018) and found myself spending a lot of time messing with my planner. Next thing you know I have more washi tape and stickers and paper than I know what to do with. Welcome to paper crafting!
When I was in sixth grade my family moved to California and I had to leave my two best friends (since kindergarten) behind. We discovered letter-writing. We would write letters and include little things we made - it was all about Snoopy for us. We made each other Snoopy Vogue magazines with drawings of our (girl) Snoopys in fabulous outfits. We collected all the adorable Snoopy stationery - tiny envelopes and letter sets, I still have a lot of it, believe it or not!
I enjoy all music from hymns to punk but I definitely lean toward older punk bands. Not the biggest fan of contemporary country music, but give me Patsy Cline or Johnny Cash all day.
I collect versions of The Girl From Ipanema and I have over 100 versions on vinyl and more digitally.
Some bands I like: The Kinks (I loooove the Kinks), Big Star, The Beatles (of course), The Smiths, The Bad Brains, X, The Stooges, Wire, XTC, The Sonics, The Monks, The Dirtbombs, The Detroit Cobras, Florence and the Machine, Sigus Ros, Bassnectar, The Album Leaf, QOTSA, Deadmau5, The Duke Spirit, Joshua Hysop
I read on average about a book a week. I love romance but I haven't found a lot of newer romance that I like so I've been re-reading old series I loved. I like series romance and vampire/immortal romance. To balance out my literary sweet-tooth, I also read books on art, creativity, owning small business, and marketing.
Lisa Kelypas, Kresley Cole, JR Ward, Mary Balough, Anne McCaffery
I went to film school and I used to watch so many movies. Now I hardly watch movies at all. My favorite movie of all time might be The Third Man. I love the visual feast of movies like Amalie and Run Lola Run. But as an old rock lover, I admit to adoring the Guardians of the Galaxy series. I mean every. single. moment. And probably all things in the Marvel-verse. I mean that last movie...wthhhhhhh. I'm glad my son has read all the comics and could tell me what happens next! And all things Wes Anderson.
I almost never watch TV. I like football and arrange my work schedule around the Denver Broncos (don't talk to me about this season). But I love all the American football. I just generally prefer to read these days.
Favorite shows of all time (they're all old bc I haven't watched TV in so long) Battlestar Galactica (the remake), Firefly, Freaks and Geeks, The Closer, Psych, Burn Notice, Law and Order SVU, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, X Files
Japanese stationery (preferably not kawaii except Sumikko Gurashi) Fine papers (touchable, thin or handmade or beautifully made or designed), Pineapples, Cats, House stickers & ephemera, Washi tape, mushrooms, Alpha stickers - I use them! I love check boxes for a planner. Not the kind where you're supposed to write a tiny list inside a little box, but just the check box part. I use a lot of those. Wax, wax seals, Hands, Weird things, Puffy stickers, Vintage postcards, Decaf tea, Sea glass
Disney, Washi tape with legible words, Religious stuff, Caffeine, Gluten, Planner stickers for EC or other planners, I have a million of them and I can't really use them. Scented soaps & lotions
I use the Hobonichi Cousin planner and the Hobonichi Weeks. I love the soft lightweight paper and it's the perfect size and layout for my needs. I've always enjoyed Japanese style and my obsession with my Hobonichi planner has taken it to the next level.
The Girl From Ipanema on vinyl, Things with lids, Enid Colins box purses, Vintage postcards (circa early 1900's, preferably embossed), Brass desk and decorative items , Pineapple anything, washi tape, 2D art made by women (I love small detailed artworks), I stopped collecting records (except Ipanema and weird xmas records, but I still have hundreds!), Handmade ceramic mugs, Random pink glasses (like rocks glasses or juice glasses)
