I'm a recently graduated art history major, visual arts minor who learned about ATCs in high school and loves the advantages that a small size canvas has. I don't have a lot of recent work up on the internet because I don't have convenient access to a scanner, but I'll try to throw up some poor photos until I can get some quality ones up.
When I post on the forums, there's a 50% chance that I'm just there to be snarky, and a 50% chance that I'm there to play devil's advocate. These, however, are not mutually exclusive.
FYI: We now have kitties :3 So let me know if you're allergic so I can take preventative measures.
As I've been on here a bit longer and read the forums I've started to realize I should probably clarify some key things.
I give hearts for thought and effort put into the swap item itself- not the extras sent with it.
I don't give hearts for the package getting here early, nor do I withdraw hearts for a delayed send if there has been communication.
Collages, knitting, prismacolors, urban sketching, typography, oil painting, clothing refashioning.
Working on learning watercolors and screenprinting.
Music: Metric, Le Tigre, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Santogold, Velvet Underground and Nico, Stars, Regina Spektor, Gogol Bordello, Architecture in Helsinki, Cold War Kids.
Movies: Brick, The Royal Tenenbaums, Paprika, Miyazaki films, Metropolis.
Authors: Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Salman Rushdie, Warren Ellis and Alan Moore, Neil Gaiman, Douglas Adams.
Peeps in the Embroidery in Red swap:
I have a confession to make...I loathe pink. I know, I know, you're sitting there staring at your floss collection and realizing "It's only the whole tint of that part of the color spectrum! I only have pink!" Or alternatively, "But this design requires a lighter color and what am I supposed to use other than pink for that in a red-only swap, huh wiseguy?" And in either of those cases, and really in all cases, you're totally in the right to do whatever the hell you want -- it's sender's choice, after all. But, just saying...if you're making a choice and you want to include my opinion in it, my preferences run towards crimson and not barbie. Thanks :3

ATCs: bold words link to examples.
I don't really care for the 'stick wings and a crown on it' style of ephemera, which isn't to say I don't like collage, far from it, I just tend to prefer things that look less scrapbook-y. Then again, if it's really nicely composed or decorated, or energetic mixed media or a unique combination I'll probably love it. I'm fond of mixing textures and techniques, exuberant but harmonious color, and unusual media and materials.
I'm also really fond of miniature painted and drawn artwork. (as an Art History major, I frequently entertain fantasies of translating Rubens into ATC size, despite that I'd go crazy and my hand would fall off) I'm not expecting Old Masters and Mistresses in the mail, obviously, but any artwork in and of itself is well-received. These are all pretty damn cool! For me, tiny art is my favourite type of ATC.
I tend to stay on the cute side of the cute/cutesy dichotomy, I don't do religion or celebrities, and I think my sense of humor would best be described as witty/ironic/slightly sarcastic.

Hey I just stumbled upon your profile and we have a lot in common (wes anderson movies {royal tenenbaums} and you have awesome music taste I wish I had Nico's droney voice).
Also, I absolutely loathe pink too ew.
hope we wind up having swaps in the future together,. later.
No worries at all! I'm a big supporter of bouncing ideas around a bit when troubled. hug Hope you get it all worked out!
So.. what's a PF? lol! I tried to figure it out. Group founder, no. Swap org...no. Hm. Anyway, if you're unhappy with the swap, I would say you ask the woman to remake it and give her only a short amount of time before saying you'll rate her a 3. I guess the time depends on what it is; an ATC, maybe a week; embroidery, a couple weeks? And I'd PM the organizer and let him/her know what's up.
Touche'. :] Well, get to work then missy!!!
Sometimes procrastination works in our favor. I often work better under pressure, so I procrastinate to make pressure. :)
Haha! Well, sometimes I can't sleep and then I sit and hit "refresh" to see the new swaps and try to help out. Some people don't know how to do links, or forget to put how many atcs to how many partners, stuff like that. I guess I'm a meddler. ;)
As an activist, I have to be above reproach. shrug Also, it's itchy. hehe
Oh, I SO want a greatcoat, but alas, most of them are wool and I am vegan.
Also "partners in crazy" = awesome. :D
:) Let me know what you think of the books. Maybe we could do a little penpal type thing, where we email our favorite part/detail/something from each book (after we have each read them, of course). PM me if you wanna. :D Oh, and check your library! Mine had the first book.
