I am a newish sewing addict, also would like to have more time in my life for gardening and baking and all sorts of crafting.
Trying to be better about eco-living, eliminating plastic from our home, opting for fair trade products, etc.
I'm married to a salesman by day and rock star by night; we have a little daughter named Delma and a second one due in September; have 3 cats who are getting a bit more exercise now that there's a toddler in the house to chase them; I have a fulltime job as a business analyst, blah blah blah...; I'm a vegetarian; want to get more into gardening and composting; am trying to make our home very hip and fabulous!
I love: sewing, anything white or brown (white is probably my fav color) anything with hip/mod colors and prints like brown, white, aqua, pink, avocado, hip/mod/retro fabrics, my cats (though I don't really like cutesy cat-themed things), family, music, chocolate (but trying to lose baby weight!), good-smelling things (warm, spicy, baked-goods scents), aprons, reading, decorating (mid-century modern), studying Judaism, playing hookey, tofu:) !
I like practical things. Though ephemera and ATCs are very cool and I like looking at them, I don't personally have much use for them. I don't collect papers and things, unless they're note cards or something that I can use, I only like embellishments that I could realistically use in sewing projects etc.
I love to hand make items for swaps, and love to receive handmade items too. I'd far prefer to receive one, two or a few handmades than a package full of store-bought bits and bobs.
NOT INTO: cutesy stuff, Disney-themed things (though I do like their movies), "country" style quilts/crafts/etc, frilly things, gold jewelry, floral-scented things, Christian themed things, ATC supplies, stickers, scrapbook supplies. ***HOWEVER, I will always rate fairly, even if I receive things I don't love or can't use!!! :)
ALLERGIC TO all animal fibers, ie wool, alpaca, etc.
VEGETARIAN, so I don't eat any candies with gelatin (ie Altoids, marshmallows, gummies, etc.)
Anxiously awaiting the day when my daughter is old enough for dollhouses and wooden food and kitchen toys, though she may not be able to ever get near them since I'll be playing with them all the time. I'll be sure to tell her all about how fun they are, though.
Sewing, embroidery (modern cool stuff, like Jenny Hart, The New Crewel, Doodle-Stitching, etc), cooking, baking, gardening, home decorating (fantasy: mid-century modern; reality: Ikea), making aprons, making cool baby clothes and burp cloths, interested in making stuffies/softies (child-safe ones), interested in learning to quilt.
Also interested in making toys for my daughter, to have more hand-crafted and less China-made toys in the house.
